This review is not only about their good stock levels and excellently knowledgeable team of staff geeks with a smile as I hope they won't mind me saying! I have had two excellent examples of 'above and beyond' from them recently. I purchased a Sony A7m3 from them and the day after Sony dropped the price by £200, leaving me feeling very 'put-out'. Not a problem says the WEX staff member, I'll refund you the £200 and it'll be back on your card within a couple of hours. It was. This week I really pushed the boat out and bought a Sony 200-600mm. Ordered it online from them at 3pm, arrived at 10am the next day. However the shoe had a faulty screw leaving it loose nothing wrong with the lens. Proper procedure would have been to box up the perfectly fine lens, send the whole lot back, get the screw sorted, get it all sent back. No doubt taking a month as it would have gone back to Sony and I wouldn't have been happy. Not a problem says the WEX staff member, have the shoe off the demo, you won't be without a lens and we can deal with it in our own time. I left happy, with a lens I can still use and a sense of loyalty to them they deserve. So here's a picture of a robin that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to take :-
I have bought several items from the store over the last few weeks. The staff, as always, were friendly, well informed and helpful. Scott, who wasn't serving me at the time, provided information which enabled me to obtain one particular item much sooner than I expected. I also traded in a number of old items and was happy with the price paid. I would definitely recommend the store as a great place to buy your camera gear. I have used WEX Birmingham for years and have always received great service.
I am so grateful for all the advice that I have received from the friendly and professional team at Wex both on the phone and in store. The customer service is exemplary. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Jake, Damian and Scott for going the extra mile and helping me with setting up my photography and video equipment. Purchased a Panasonic DMC Fz2000 today from Wex - and was served by Scott Round......what a top bloke! Not pushy at all, very knowledgeable and had a good chat with him about the camera above verses the Sony Rx10d. I'd recommend Wex Birmingham - and if your there, have a chat with Scott......
Why would anyone want to buy a camera anywhere else? This place was recommended to me by a photography lecturer and I have bought used products online in the past. I bought a new camera, was given excellent advice that was tailor made to my level and my needs. Harjeev was an excellent sales advisor who listened and advised and gave good explanations too. I had to order the camera, it arrived within a week and on collection was served by Scott. 100% positive experience. Thank you .
I recently purchased a Nikon Z6II camera and was assisted by Scott Round on the two occasions I was in the store. On my first visit I had previously determined that I wanted a Fujifilm camera but, after talking with Scott for a short while, became aware that the Nikon would better suit my needs. Scott was not at all pushy on this but allowed me to come to the conclusion after providing very helpful information about both cameras. He suggested that on my next visit I bring lenses from a previously owned Nikon to try on the one I was considering purchasing. I left the store to consider my options and returned in two days. Again Scott provided me with very helpful information on use of the previously purchased lenses and I concluded that the Nikon would best suit my needs. Scott then helped me choose the necessary accessories such as the memory card and camera bag and I left the store excited to use my new camera. Before leaving, Scott invited me to return to the store for any help I might need or to contact him via email. All in all, I found his assistance to be extremely helpful and highly recommend anyone wishing to purchase a camera or camera-related accessories to visit Web Photo and ask for Scott.
Wanted a m43 em1 x Olympus. Had one s/h in store. Great price and excellent condition. Scott Round advised on lens etc and gave me a great deal px for my Em5 ii. Well worth a visit ..very friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. Easy parking in front of store by the way...
Best in class service and prices. Ahead of making an in store purchase at the Birmingham shop, I e-mailed the support team to get a few questions answered. The responses were quick, informative and full, such that my in store purchase was smooth. The store manager assisted with informative advice and support. Followed up by what can assure is the best customer service I have ever experienced. Part of my purchase included an item that was to follow on after the store collection. There was a minor issue, where the store and myself were advised that it was in stock. Only later it was identified as otherwise. The store manager Adele, intervened and made an upgraded substitution which then arrived very quickly. At all times I was appraised of the status, and where appropriate, phoned to provide updates. During this I felt both valued as a customer and I appreciated the time invested to update me throughout. This is backed by very competitive, if not the best prices in store and on the internet. There is a reason why businesses succeed, their customers keep returning and there is a reason customers return. Feeling valued and confident that service is class leading, and prices are the best means I will use Wex Birmingham going forward and recommend, based on my experiences.
I went into Wex as a complete novice, with very little information on what I wanted, and absolutely zero knowledge on cameras. I left with a lovely new to me Nikon, tons of excellent advice, a plan to join their events/workshops, and an offer to come back if I ever needed any advice. Seeing as I know literally nothing, they could have very easily taken advantage of that fact and sold me literally absolutely anything, but they took the time to make sure that I got something good value and useful for me - this has all been backed up by double-checking online since I got home! Huge thanks to Luke C for making my first "proper" camera-buying experience a positive one, and for helping me find a camera right for me - will definitely be returning whenever I need any more equipment.
Helpful and friendly staff. Great experience at store when I came in to trade in my old camera and to purchase the newly release Panasonic S5II. Damian got everything sorted quickly so I didn't have to make a second trip. Also has a good collection of lenses. Would visit again for future camera purchases.
