If you want an acoustic guitar or a banjo, this is a good place to go. They cater for all budgets and sell children's beginners' instruments and music. A fairly wide range of instruments available and the staff are helpful and know their stuff. Watch out for the front door - it's very heavy. The doorway is difficult to negotiate for wheelchair users, I suspect.

Very helpful staff. I'm a total novice who was looking for a piano for my son. They walked me through the range, directed me within my budget, made recommendations, we're very patient with my numerous trips over a couple of weeks. Made me very confident in my purchase. Absolutely recommended.

Horrible shop. The staff have absolutely no manners and cannot even be bothered say hello, goodbye or offer to help you. The manager clearly has no idea how to train people. All the stock is massively over priced. I wouldnt buy anything from this shop and I hope it goes out of business.

Went in today to buy an acoustic.  Been there once before and had really good service  so really wanted to come back and buy.  Member of staff (can recall his name)  was very helpful nothing was too much trouble even though I changed my mind like three times.  Wasn't pushy or intrusive either,  just let me get on with it and helped when needed,  certain other guitar shops could learn from this....   Even threw me in a gig bag.... 
Don't usually bother with reviews but had to on this occasion.  The guitar I bought (tanglewood discovery)   is amazing too.  Will definitely be back to buy a fender electric next year!

Hadn't been to Manns for a while but went recently and was a poor experience. Young girl served me whilst sitting on top of counter. Didn't know prices and when I asked about instrument part her and young lad both said they had no idea. No offer to ask someone else or find out. Won't go back to Manns anytime soon. Better shop in Chelmsford.
