A really nice french styled restaurant or bar. Reminds me of a brasserie with good food, drinks and atmosphere. It's got a beer garden out front and back, a babyfoot table football and service is friendly. The food menu looks a little over elaborate miso sauces and emulsions however the chef does it justice and pulls off the flavours well. Steak frites is also available and a lovely generous portion is provided. It's relaxed and a lovely place for a meal. Cosy.
Yet another 5-star restaurant. This french inspired restaurant packed a punch, with its rich flavours and relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff. For my main I had the Stake-fritas with the mushroom sauce. For the steak I asked for medium-rare, it was on the rarer side, but I don't mind that. The mushroom sauce that came with it was a really nice touch and it was a pleasant surprise that the sauce wasn't as rich as the other sauces I had and didn't overpower the core flavours that the steak had to offer, the fries were good and seasoned well. We also had the Black lentil almond dahl with crispy tofu. This was presented well, but I didn't taste it, but they said it was incredible. We also had the fish monk fish again was presented well, but didn't taste, and yet again they said it was outstanding. Finally for the mains we had the Braised short rib, this was tender and was like butter in your mouth, and the aligote potatoes were done to perfection, with strong notes of garlic and cheese as there should be. For the desserts, we had a try of all the deserts put together, starting with the rice pudding with drunken fruit. This was warm and very comforting, it really made you feel like you were at home. The. The bruléed bananas with the ice cream and sauce really hit the sweet spot, the texture was perfect and was very satisfying. Finally we had the Chocolate Orange mousse which was very rich and smooth with perfect hits of orange. All of the meals were close to perfect and the atmosphere was amazing, with great music taste and the laid back vibes really makes you relax and enjoy the great food they serve there. The refined menu gave a classy edge to the place, and if you want brilliant authentic french food COME HERE. Pictures down below :
Went for a Sunday roast on 19 January 2020. Was greeted very warmly into a cosy environment. We arrived ten minutes early and placed the order for food with our drinks straight away. It took an hour and a quarter for the food to arrive. When we asked the waitress what the update is on the food, she said she’ll check on it and never came back. Ten minutes later we asked a different waitress, she replied saying we “took too long” with the starters, even though we’d finished our starters in about five minutes. Despite our aghast looks from this comment, there was no apology. My roast potatoes were burnt to a degree where I couldn’t cut them and my Yorkshire pudding was most obviously burnt too, I’m surprised they served it in the first place. At no point where we asked if the food was okay, perhaps there was nothing furtive about our dissatisfaction. Definitely overpriced for poor food and service. Not recommended.
Delicious jack fruit shawarma. Rosemary salted french fries were also divine. Definitely be returningFood: 5/5
A true gem of a place. The staff are bloody lovely, knowledgeable and great at recommending dishes or drinks to compliment the food. It's a really relaxed place, the music is great and the food delicious. On the few times I've visited recently its felt cosy, welcoming and homely. I would highly recommend.
Been here before and was lovely. This time had to wait with friends for Sunday roast just slightly more than 70 mins. Lady waiter blamed us for taking too long with our starters. We have finished our starters in 5 mins. Not a single time we were asked if food was ok, or any sorry for delay. What started very lovely, ended up as worst Sunday roast in my life. Some things were burnt like potato or Yorkshire pudding. No veggie gravy either. Pint was good tho so 1 Star.
The food is excellent, great drinks, lovely staff and the outdoor space at the back is perfect for an afternoon drink in the sun or shade.
Popped in for a quick bite at lunch time, nice selection of drinks, very limited food menu. Opted for the burger, which was an absolute surprise, basically it was wonderful. It may be small but it packs a punch, I could have eaten several. Not somewhere I'd go for an evening dinner, but for lunch , excellent.Food: 5/5
Always great to visit here. Not been for a while and the food menu has changed significantly. We had the burgers which were delicious. The cosy atmosphere in doors is perfect when the night gets a bit darker.Food: 5/5
Great little bar. Definite focus on quality with better beers and wines than you’d expect for the price / location. Eclectic decor with a great Sopranos mural in the back. Very friendly staff. Sunday roasts are the best in Chorlton. Definitely recommend a potion of their chips to snack on.
