I arrived by train so it was just a short walk up to the shops and the market place.nI visited on a Saturday so there was a market and artisan market close by, food vans, icecream and entertainment in the form of an excellent brass band and a dance exhibition.nMalton has a lot of independent shops and is very popular with tourists.nThere’s certainly no shortage of places to buy food and drink whether you want a cake shop, a pub, cafe or restaurant!nWell worth a visit, particularly on a Saturday check local news for details of themed weekends.
It's a nice little station that is well located for the town, and the path that runs along the River Derwent. Plenty of seating and shelter available on the platform. Regular services to York and Scarborough, with occasional trains to Leeds and Manchester
Small indoor seating area and cafe within the station. Toilets closed but cafe charges 50p per use - lucky I had change. Cafe owner was nice about it though, can understand why as he told me visitors were leaving it dirty, as a former cafe worker I sympathise. Station really need to fix those loos, ones at bus station over road also closed, next nearest free is a ten minute walk away in Lidl.
Cute little train station in Malton that gets you to where you need to be.
Lovely country station. Friendly staff and low cost parking. Great choice for local commuters!
