This is a lovely pub with a very nice ambience, great atmosphere and friendly staff.nnThe food menu is ambitiously spanish, hence the gastropub status, but perhaps a little bit too ambitious. Me and my friends all had a few different courses I had the Rabbit and chorizo. No complaints but the courses we had didn’t really come to live.nnBut it’s a nice place and definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.nn- Value for money? Yesn- Worth a detour? Non- Best for occasion? A few pintsn- Would I go back? Yes
4 of us came for Sunday roast and loved it. Massive portions! Make a reservation because it gets full quickly.
We had the venison for three at for 60GBP shown in the picture.nnTasted great but the portion was small and we all walked away hungry. Shouldn't happen for that price.nn3 pounds for tiny but great tasting sausage roll. Portion size isn't value for money
Excellent food and decent service but the atmosphere was so busy and loud, which was a shame. We could barely hear each other and we hope to dine more quietly.
The steak for two was out of this world. Grilled meat with a sumptuous bearnaise on the side, fries, lettuce with homemade dressing, all served generously. I haven't tried anything else on the menu but will be back for this!
