Brilliant carvery and lovely staff. The meat was tender and melt-in-the-mouth, roasties were cooked to perfection, all the veg was lovely. Servings were incredibly generous. Wish I had more room in my stomach so I could eat more. All staff were friendly and talkative, quick service. The puddings were amazing as well. I had the chocolate brownie sundae, but couldn't help myself but take a piece of chocolate fudge cake to go and have later. Couldn't recommend this place more. So glad I found it. Kid-friendliness: They offer a kids carvery for cheaper. Parking: Good amount of spaces compared to tables inside. Road parking is also available.
Amazing home made mulled wine! Had a carvery was very tasty, would have liked more gluten free options stuffing etc but it won't stop us going back.Food: 5/5
The nut roast was inedible, the rest of the veg was average. My partner did say the meat was good quality but we were pretty underwhelmed unfortunately. The restaurant is looking tired and dated so sadly we'll be giving it a miss from now on which is a shame because we had high hopes based on the other reviews.
Excellent food. The carvery portion was generous, and pudding is available for takeaway if you can't fit it in afterwards.
I thought for the price all the veg would be fresh , but the carrots and green beans tasted frozen ones to me , otherwise it was a really good mealFood: 3/5
The roast was very tasty, the bread and butter pudding was like my late Mum's recipe. The staff went out of there way to be helpful. The prices were very good value for money. But not a lover of the nicotine stained beamed ceiling, Or the tatty wallpaper.
Perhaps I caught them on a bad day? Conservatory where there was actually some light was fully reserved not for bookings I may add,they just don’t want you in there so in the actual pub it was cold. Joints looked nice but the potatoes were unfortunately underdone, and the meal was tasteless and bland no matter how much seasoning you applied. Such a shame as we were regulars but on this occasion very poor.
Always a great meal. Delicious tender meat and plenty of veg. Best carvery in plymouth area. Kid-friendliness: We didn't take the grandkids this time, but they've always been well catered to when we have. And for the hotter months a lovely garden area. Noise from main road, but you soon ignore that.
Food was delicious. Staff very friendly. Excellent service. Will definitely be going back again.Food: 5/5
