I’ve been going to the Luton Library for a long time now. It’s gone through some major changes but one thing’s for sure it still has the lovely and friendly staff that are always there to help and support you. The children’s section downstairs has been totally renovated and looks very nice. The library has helped me through primary school and college. Now I bring my kids here too whenever we visit Luton.
We go here every weekend The children’s section has a wide variety of books to snuggle up and reading on the big cushions. The little ones have plenty of little activities to be entertained with. The big mat with the insects is a perfect game to play in short bursts between reading. The staff are amazing and always helpful. I love the little themed corner suggesting books in particular topics and the push towards coding. The summer library challenge was my child’s first challenge this summer and she thoroughly enjoyed it!
2nd great review - Erin at this library is amazing, looking after us customers. I noticed a small minor incident and she showed concern, and is going above and beyond to make the library a pleasant place for everyone A truly rare lady! Thanks, Erin! Library Printing Review 5* as of March 2022. The library's new printing process is amazing, you don't need an account to print just the print guide in the image I've attached. And you can pay with your card, easy and simple! I loved it! I had no issues uploading, and printing in colour and paying. They've really thought of visitors, including the one's who no longer live in Luton but need their services IE printing. So... I hadn't been to Luton in ages and needed top quality printing quick. I remembered the library may be the best place to try on a Saturday and it was!!!! I highly recommend it. If you don't have a debit/credit card you can pay via PayPal too, or there is an option after uploading to the pay library, help desk, who will then release your prints to the printer. The support desk and laser printer are on the 1st floor through the double doors and straight down on the left I wish other libraries made it that easy! Oh it's a laser printer and quick, which I loved. Click on the image to find out costs of colour and black and white. I've also added opening times, hope that helps. Any issues, speak to the support desk. And yes there is a scanner too, ask the help desk for help
A great library with many resources and facilities. I have been coming here since I was a child. Staff are helpful. There is also a theatre - the pantomimes are fantastic. The children's section is awesome with many books, seating areas, computers and also a little reception area. There's also a quiet area upstairs with desks for individuals as well as groups and computers. There are self service kiosks dotted around the library. The quick IT area at the front of the library is very handy. Would definitely recommend.
A wonderful Library with that is rich in information on local history. Has many interesting pictures and books in here about Luton . I was very surprised at how much, took a walk around here and was very happy i did. There are also many newspapers and magazines for visitors to sit and have a read and browse through. You can also see some nice views higher of Luton town centre from the windows in this library.
Love the library. they have just refurbished the toddler’s section. also, if you have children under 3, you might want try the song and rhyme session every Tuesday. my son loves it so much. the library is also huge and have lots of good children and adult book titles.
I'm bias here as I've been using this library for many years now and have always had a soft spot for the quite contemplation it can allow. I have used the library for self study. For college courses and university assignments. We have a History. Virtually all the books I have ever needed have been available and if not then the staff has ordered them in for me without issues. Comics, DVDs and Music albums I said we had a History then CDs were once available. Though some of these items are no longer on display there the possibility they might be ordered in. There are occasions when the library can get busy and a little loud but the staff were usually on top of this. Talking of staff I have found them to be mostly Helpful and Friendly over the Years. Open Seven days a week and into the early evening, and, not forgetting the large range of computers available of which members can use free for an hour, I think it's worthy of a town centre library. Have to say i Miss the canteen that used to be on the Third Floor. It was nice to sit down and eat during long study sessions!!!
Peace of mind lots books to read very clean and calm place xerox at the reasonable and 10p per copy for browsing wifi avalable
Great to see them open again after a long wait! Lots of books, good IT facilities, areas to sit and read, quiet study area, helpful staff. Good ventilation and COVID precautions are good too. Great children's library section on ground floor. Frequently running activities
Good staff very polite and helpful, plus good place to use the computers and Loads of books for the knowledge you are searching for and a quiet place to relax while reading and you can also borrow the books and bring them back after reading them.
