Very nice welcoming library. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice selection of books.
Very helpful staff, good range of books and they are happy to order books in if what you want isn’t there. They also do lots of baby and children’s events, these are very well attended and an asset to the community.
The staff were lovely and helpful. They didn't have the books I was looking for but they ordered them for me and gave me all the information about when to collect the books, how long until I need to return it and so on. I love hitchin library.
Went here the other day to get another library card as I had lost mine and the lady who I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. Very good experience and clean library
We spent a very enjoyable hour at Hitchin Library this evening doing their new escape room - it was brilliant and had lots of different puzzles and clues to solve. Highly recommended!
Absolutely appalling website and the county council contact service even worse. What have the library service been doing since lockdown? Would have been very helpful to have been informed that he library was open once again rather than to see the door open by chance. Library charges in the interim have been applied - this feels like a joke! Very disappointing for previously reassuringly efficient service at branch level.
Excellent library, provides all sorts of services as well as the obvious loaning of books. PC and printing facilities for those who don't have access at home. DVD rental. What is not to like? It really is a great asset to the town.
Fair choice of books and good staff. Computer access is a bonus,but what lets it down is the size. For a town this big the library could be bigger. Why can they not knock through to the old museum next door?

A medium sized local library downstairs has most the books and a kids reading/drawing zone. Upstairs is mutch quieter with studdy tables and computers, Great place to study. You can also rent movies and e-books. Has small town notice board. Staff seem nice
