I would give it no star to this post office if there is such an option. The queue was slow. And by the time it's my term, the service staff a lady made me wait for a good 3 minutes for no good reason twiddling her thumbs???. When she has finally called to service, she interrogated me for the purpose of the package it was a return, and the value, and whether it was new or not. I told her I just need the parcel to be tracked, and she quoted £7.65 for a small U.K domestic parcel/200g!!! I later learnt that what she quoted was Special Delivery, which was the next day service which I did not need. I decided on the spot that's not what I wanted to pay hence decide not to post. Then she got really mad and claimed I had no idea what it takes to post the stuff bla bla bla... Her attitude was appalling!! In a "more normal" setting, the price could have been explained and clarified easily and I would have chosen the 24/48 hr delivery option. Instead she had to throw a small tantrum in front of me and other customers, which is embarrassing to say the least. and I had to visit a different Royal Mail branch, which I did. The staff there friendly explained the price structure, and the package finally posted, at a reasonable price. This is the third time I visited this Lordship Lane branch. Out of the three times, I only had one positive experience there. So 1/3. Everyone's experience might vary. But suffice to say I'll try to avoid this branch as much as possible.
You can walk to Forest Hill Post Office, get served and then walk back all quicker than queuing for this place
I visited the lordship lane post office this morning, and really can't understand why there are so many negative reviews. I found the staff friendly and efficient . I think some people need to get a life and to stop moaning.
Slowest post office I’ve been to. Every single time I go there is a queue going all the way out of the door and the women working behind the screen show ZERO urgency in their job. It’s a painful experience
My experience was consistent with all the negative reviews. Went to return a parcel and they did not have masking tape in stock, nor were they able to print the return label from the QR code, despite the fact the branch is advertised as providing this service. In addition, they were clearly understaffed, leading to a long queue, and the woman who served me was grumpy and rude. Really disappointing that my local branch cannot reliably provide basic services.
After Covid, it seems to have returned to either one of two options, one is you're waiting in a long queue, the other is you can walk straight in and get served. Customer service is adequate and there are one or two exceptional counter staff. People complain about this branch, but it's gone back to having at least 3-4 counters open and they're mostly knowledgeable. The Forest Hill PO run by WHSmith on the other hand is a nightmare.
Understaffed and untrained, I wanted to send a package to Australia but the assistant wasn't sure if it was allowed in the country. She briefly looked at allow list and told me to phone Royal Mail, so I did but all they did was look on the website and could clearly see that I could send my package. If the assistant had just taken 5 seconds to look at the website in front of her, it would have saved me 2 trips and a 30 min wait on the phone. Queues are massive 90% of the time too.
Quite busy but usually only one or two counters open.
This branch is a joke, came here twice today and it was shut due to staff shortage, ridiculous !
Nice and patient staff, they always been kind and often offer other services like cashback. I found this staff correct and they follow standard procedures always, as a result of that, rude customers that request parcels without ID often end throwing tantrums like 3 years old toddler as they will not get the parcel/pension as they wish. Sadly this area has plenty of customers with ego issues and seems like they need to treat in unpleasant way frecuently using strong and dirty language when talking with the staff just to feel some gaps in their emotional problems, However I being happy with their services.
