Try to avoid the older counter guy on the left who always seems grumpy. Also they need to accept responsibility when they make mistakes and refund customers affected. I get no pleasure in giving this feedback. It's good that the reviews sre being read at least. When a stand-in colleague was working, I found thrm to be very polite and friendly, quite refreshing.
I had booked a super important special delivery for collection at this Post Office only to be laughed at and told "We don't have it", even with a confirmation email from Royal Mail. Generally just quite rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to do anything at all. Basically: Don't get anything redirected here. Not worth it.
I have been using this post office for decades, for both post office and occasionally for some stationery. When I moved I would pass my local post office to come here. I have never had any problems with the staff they have always been polite and friendly and they all not just the person who is assisting you that visit, greet you with an hello and a smile. I have neveer experienced any problems when sending letters or parcels, have on occasion had advice on which particular service to use and they don't push the dearer more expensive option but the option more suited to your needs.
I've used this Post Office for years, and have never found the staff to be anything other than helpful, polite, and friendly. So I find the negative reviews on here hard to take seriously. Some of them, I note, are of the Dalston branch, not this one. The weekday opening hours are 8:30 to 16:30, and they're understandably fairly strict about that. So if you're queuing outside and it's close to 4:30, you might get turned away. The queues are sometimes long, but that's not the shop's fault. It's a small counter, with only space for serving two customers at a time, and in my experience it's always fully staffed at the busiest times, with both employees working hard.
I would avoid if possible but if you do have to use this branch, be very careful with the tactics of the two people working here. They try to overcharge for heavier weight and try to charge you for premium postage without mentioning that you can get standard first or second class for a fraction of the price. My advice would be to weigh your item before going to the branch, look up the postage options and pricing online and then make sure they charge the correct amount.
Constantly tries to sell most expensive option, even tho I know there are cheaper options.
I booked an Amazon return and carried the large parcel all the way in the rain only to be told it was too big and I’d have to organise it through Royal Mail. There was no willingness to help beyond turning me away. If there is a limit on size it would be helpful for the PO to communicate this with Amazon to save everyone with large/bulky parcels making the same error
This post office totally racist, Since the postman was not at home, the racist, who had a post office license in three side shops, delivered the product. I gave my ID and red letter and the post office owner started shouting to his next door employee "who take this product? Why are you taking it?” he said. So I said, I guess you don't like helping people. He said that I will return the parcel and I will not give it to you. then he fired me from the Post office
The post office employee wanted to charge me extra for no reason. My letter was totally fine.
The nicest, competent people to deal with. They get so busy through the day and maybe the other review reflected this in his review- but I just find it really hard to believe they could ever be rude to anyone! Great little post office, just choose the quietest time to go to avoid the queues. Its so popular because they are caring and helpful.
