Friday night and one member of staff who was doing her best but there was a queue at both bars so waited 10 mins to get a drink, while the what I presume is the landlady played with a disco set up which no one was interested in in the corner over other music being played..Good prices, bad customer serviceService: 1/5

As an age old customer of the LP, I think I'm more than qualified to post a review about this community pub. The previous landlady and then her son made the LP what it is today. It has since been taken over by the most friendliest and welcoming people that have settled into the job brilliantly considering they had such a hard act to follow.
It was great atmosphere in there. It nice place to meet friends and family. It's nice they show live sports. The music and live band they have there is really good. It good that they have pool tables so you can play pool there. I really like coming here. I enjoyed the live band when I came here last Friday and I wished I stayed for longer than I did. Staff member and manager are friendly there. I would like to come back here again.
I am almost 40 years and they ask me ID. I may look younger, but not less than 18! I gave my ID, than she the waitress said that the ID is not British and for this reason she has to call her boss. I said “sure no problem”, she is lucky to not work in Cambridge or in London otherwise she could not serve anyone without her boss! The boss said that the British ones have no date of birth ID without Date Of Birth don’t exist and in that case Why you ask for ID if you don’t expect Date Of Birth on it? . They had my ID on hand, I repeated my age and they 2 together 4 eyes took ages to read the date of birth on my ID. Finally I had my beer, unfortunately she decided to talk loud about me to other customers and this was very embarrassing.
A pretty dynamic place with 2 components on special nights: bar with pool & bar stage/dance floor. My 'dar may be off but seems friendly to a diverse group of people, in some respects. More to come.

This place, to start the people that work there are lovely, massive sweethearts all of them, they definitely know how to make people feel comfortable, the locals that go are fascinating, you can't help but over hear their jokes and laugh. The food came hot and in good portions, the atmosphere is quaint and nostalgic even to me at 22 it reminds me of watching CHEERS with my father, I'm an American living in the UK and after a year in total of overpriced pubs with rude workers, I was able to come here and feel what a true British pub feels like,My husband and I will definitely be going back : the only thing I don't like is the gambling machines I don't know how to play it and it took my £4
Very brief visit but refurbishment looks great. Service good.Service: 5/5
For probably the most expensive pub in town, the LP was busy, live music in the lounge bar, which was of a high standard sport in the public bar and outside area, bar staff doing thier best to keep up with demand, good system for ordering drinks, nobody jumping the queue which helped. All in all a good night out.
