I was looking for a place selling fish and chips while I had a 12-hour stopover in London. Long Lane Fish Bar had the best fish I've ever had! They are cash only, however the best places to get amazing food at a great price are cash only. The amount of service vehicles taxis, garbage men, etc. parked outside was a good indication of the quality here. 10/10 highly recommended by me!
I hate to give this place this few stars. The staff were so kind and the service was amazing. However, I immediately got food poisoning after taking three bites of the fish and eating half my chips. The fish smelt and tasted really fishy and didn’t seem right from the start. The chips were good but apparently my stomach didn’t agree with them. I really had high hopes for this place
Clean and tidy Fish N Chip shop. Usual selection of batter assortments to select from. The service was really quick, even in a really busy Saturday 7pm queue. The service was also friendly. I'm afraid the photo doesn't do it justice but when we got home the large Cod and Chips was crazily big. I mean so much for food for the price and it was really delicious. I would definitely be coming back in some future time.
Yes, and yes . The chips are just the right combination of soft and crunchy. Serve yourself salt and vinegar, which i recommend the gerkin vinegar clear one. The premises are clean and staff friendly. Forget you fancy pants, coffee, and cake shop which are just up the road. Get yourself a chip roll and a cold drink from here. You will not regret it. This is comfort food personification. Very nice traditional fish and chips shop. They made some restorations. The previous look was better but still it’s a good place. The taste of fish and chips is the same and delicious. They used to serve it with wood fork but now they use plastic fork now. Bermondsey feels you happy with Long Lane Fish BarFood: 5/5
We've been there directly bevor the first covid lockdown and bevor they renovated. It was already great! Now We've been there for the second time and in my opinion it's still simple but the best fish and chips we ever had. My Girlfriend has had the vegetarian tofish and I had the cod with chips. The portions are really big and the price is more that fair. The Guys that work there are really friendly and the food ist just awesome. Just go there!
I lovedddd the fish & chips here!!!!. The fish is soft covered in thin crispy batter. Wouldnt have come by if i wasnt doing laundry next door. Such a hidden gem!Food: 5/5
I found Long Lane Fish Bar more than ten years ago, when I stayed down the street in the apartment complex. Since back then I paid them quite a few visits and they always delivered! Usually I take it to the small park a few hundred meters east of the Fish Bar.
Worst fish and service combination I've experienced in a long time.Food: 2/5
