The site is very basic the toilets and showers are basic but very clean.nThe only problem is there is no reception so if it is your first visit there is no one to meet and help you.
When we arrive nobody to greet us had to call to say what pitch wr are on showers need modernising as they are only unisex we were told by a lady called Jean have u got the pages for the site we said no as we haven't seen a sole all week
Site is small, clean and very, very relaxing! As such, the people who camp here are all very friendly so far.nLots of great walks at the edge of the campsite and if you're feeling like you need a bit of not so quiet, all facilities of Carlton Meres are free those which would be free if a paying guest in Carlton Meres, such as the pools, gyms, entry to the pub etc.nShowers and washrooms are clean. Washing up area includes a communal fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and mugs. Facilities are a little outdated as per previous reviews, but frankly, we're sleeping in a field and having all these facilities available and to a good clean standard is a winner for me!nGreeted by staff when arriving on site and are super friendly.nWill definitely be staying again. Perfect little retreat away to forget the world. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed our stay, nice sized pitch for tenting and facilities for washing and toileting were always clean. Site was very quiet despite being close to the caravan holiday park.nnMy only gripe was that we experienced a fair few kids on bikes from the holiday park whizzing around the camp site and there was a few cars throughout our stay who drove into the site, turned around in the tenting pitch area and drove off again. Some signs asking people not to enter the campsite without a booking would be preferred to discourage this.
Ok shame the bins over flowing and to near the pitch. Nice pools, won't go again
