I didn't eat here because I only stopped for a nice pint of cider, so I can't comment on the food. But the couple's food at the next table looked good. I like the pub because it has a great location if you are walking or cycling along the canal towpath. You can't miss it, and it's a very pleasant spot to sit outside for a drink or a bite. The atmosphere is really nice on a sunny day. Parking: Best not to come by car - there's no parking immediately nearby
Nice place near the canal popular with dog walkers and cyclists. Small car park but additional on street parking not that far away. The manager was friendly and managed to accommodate us although the place was very busy. Children's menu had plenty of options and was excellent value for money. Was very underwhelmed by spicy veggie burger, as it wasn't spicy and, in my opinion, was overpriced. Chicken wings were good, as was the range of beers on draught. Outside seating for when the weather gets better. Kid-friendliness: Children's menu available.
Great place to stop for good food and few drinks. Next to Forth and Clyde canal, have great atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Our go to place on a friday evening, they have modified the seating area with big glass windows overlooking the canal. The temple walk itself is perfect for joggers, casual strollers, dog walkers, leisurely strollers, fishing enthusiasts with licenses etc. The food is decent and not too expensive. There is also a pub within to enjoy a couple of drinks with buddies or family. The restaurant allows dogs inside and also have decent toilet facilities. There is dog water bowl at most of the outdoor seating area. Small events can be hosted here . We also enjoyed live music at some days as well. However, parking is restricted 5 cars max and sometimes card are parked at the adjacent lanes. Parking: Limited number of spots- 5 max , others usually park at the adjacent lanes Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly restaurant
This place is great as a pub - not so much as a restaurant. The outside area is pretty much guaranteed to be full on a sunny day as it's a really nice relaxed place by the canal. The variety of drinks is good and the prices are fair. The food however is sub-standard even for a pub. The pizzas had no taste whatsoever and it took almost an hour to serve them. We've also seen others being served burgers and they looked more like something you'd buy in Iceland and "cook" in a microwave. It'll fill your stomach, but don't expect it to be good. So overall I'd definitely recommend the place as a pub - just eat somewhere else.
Great place .was still hungry after steak n ale pie and chips tho...shame it tasted great...a great pitstop for dogwalkers..cyclists..and general bams....pub very clean and nice toilets.. Wheelchair accessibility: Seating in or outside..
Nice place to stop off if wandering along the canal for some refreshment, with decent food at reasonable prices updated menu with more selections. Friendly staff and place looks great and more lively atmosphere than years before. Dogs also welcome.Food: 5/5
We go there because you can take dogs. Have not eaten there though their menu looks pretty standard. Toilets are clean and odour free, which is always a good sign. Seating is available outside on the bank of the canal.Service: 3/5
Located at the north end of Crow Rd on the Forth & Clyde Canal Lock 27 Anniesland / Temple area of Glasgow Pub restaurant with indoor and lots of outdoor seating. Very popular venue in the ‘better weather’ and as a pleasant indoor rest for those having a walk along the canal in ‘any weather’. Staff were friendly and attentive. Decor pleasant and the pub/restaurant was clean. The food is similar to other pub chains and was ok but not exceptional. Dog friendly. No complaints and I’ll be popping in again.
Really friendly and accommodating staff, good service too. Food was terrible we had beef and chicken burgers with onion rings and chicken wings. Wings were fine, burgers and onion rings were bland and really dry. I'd bet they're cheap reheated pre-cooked frozen, zero chance at all they're freshly made or even freshly bought IMO. My wife was up all night being sick, we won't be back.
