I have been looking forwards to trying this restaurant for a long time. Unfortunately I found all the hype of excellence to lead to disappointment. Firstly our chosen wine (Pinot grigio) was out of stock. Next we requested the option of having "half sized mains portions" for our son giving him an opportunity to experience something more exciting than the watered down kids selection, unfortunately this was not possible. (Although with the portion sizes we received I can see why they were not able to half them). We then waited an age for our food despite having an obviously hungry six year old with us. Other diners came and went in the time it took us to receive our order. After our food was served, nobody came to ask if everything was to our liking. Usually these minor issues would be overlooked when looking at the overall dining experience which was not a "bad" experience. But when you visit a restaurant like this, a "Not bad" experience is not good enough. Every effort to accommodate you should be made to ensure that you do not only receive an excellent meal, but an excellent, trouble free experience as well.

Loch Fyne needs ‘refyning’. We prebooked and were then kept waiting for a good half hour before being shown to our table. We were told that it was full, despite it being virtually empty and then had to wait for even longer for our food, once we had ordered. My sons’ and my daughter’s meals were all excellent (tuna steak, cod and mussels). However, my avocado salad was very disappointing, the pomegranate seeds were overripe, and tasted like nail varnish remover. I really didn’t enjoy it. Finally, the bill took far too long to arrive. Additionally, Pedro was a little too overly attentive.

Lovely waiting staff with brilliant memory, a couple of the orders were lacking bits when they came but she knew each of the orders and components and quickly sorted with the kitchen, food OK.

I love Loch Fyne and the service is always super friendly and efficient. I chose the special - a simple pan fried salmon meal with heritage potatoes and a lobster beurre/butter, which whilst nice, was nothing out of the ordinary as the salmon was over cooked and hard - rather than succulent and tender, and the presentation could have been better. Disappointing as I tend to think that local produce and fresh (hopefully organic) fish and meat tastefully presented and a joy to the tastebuds is why anyone would want to eat out, especially here.

Lovely staff oysters where beautiful. A little cold in the restaurant,so a jacket is not a bad idea but that's the only thing
