Absolutely brilliant site, views are breathtaking and lots of stuff to do on the site, from hiking to Kayaking. 15 of us enjoyed a great stay for the weekend. Plus they have a cafe / restaurant on site and also a little shop to buy toiletries or small food items. Highly recommended, great setup.
Great location, with plenty of spots to choose from even though it was a Bank hol weekend. The staff were really helpful, the pizzas were amazingly good, and the spicy pizza was actually spicy which makes a nice change Toilets and Showers were plentiful, and clean and spacious, and the boiling hot water tap for my girlfriends hot water bottle was a winner for her! Hope to return again
We stayed here to celebrate my daughters 3rd birthday in September. It was our first family with our little boy and we all had a fantastic time. We booked to stay in the bell tents, the children thought they were magical with the fairy lights & decor. We were very happy to discover they had real bed in them too. The facilities were wonderful with the pizza and burritos on the first night, the hot water on tap to prepare bottles for the kids, the shop and most importantly the amazing staff, nothing was too much trouble. When the children were asleep it was stunning to sit out side by the fire & stargaze. Such a lovely campsite and relieved to have other friendly campers who kept the noise levels down when it got later so we all managed a good sleep & the babes didn't wake. We even managed some wild swimming in the lake. We can't wait to return, best holiday ever would 100% recommend
Second visit to the site, and have loved the stay. Friendly and informative wardens/staff, good showers and toilet facilities that are cleaned frequently, delicious food from the on-site Kitchen but this won't be open every day depending on time of year, so plan accordingly!. Enjoyed the firepits in the evenings, and enjoyed a walk alongside the lake leading to a fantastic viewing spot. Will be visiting again!
A great campsite at the foot of snowdon with great on site facilities and plenty of space for camping pitches! The scenery around the campsite is awe inspiring! As well as the great location the site is also based on llyn gwynant lake allowing for campers and day visitors to hire or use there own water equipment on the lake or river! The site has great showers, toilets, washing up areas, shop and bar and food stand with varying meals each day very handy to save the washing up. The only minor improvement that could be made would be to have the night toilets open longer as it can be a long walk from your pitch to the main toilet and shower facilities, but this doesn’t ruin the experience.
First time here but loved it, beautiful scenery toilet and showers were good, shower block is fairly new. The lake is crystal clear and good for various water sports, there is a place to hire equipment.
Fabulous campsite! Beautiful setting. Swimming in the lake is a must. Food on site if you don't want to cook. Busier and a different atmosphere on busy weekends, quiet and relaxed at other times. A perfect base for walking and cycling adventures in Snowdonia.
Stopped for two nights with our campervan whilst visiting the area. We found the site setting amazing and very clean but felt it was overpriced, hence the 4 and not 5. The staff we met were chatty and friendly, always a smile and hello. The showers are hot but push button which we weren't keen one, they were weak too on pressure.
Just back from staying at Llyn Gwynant. The surroundings are absolutley beautiful. We stayed in the EHU area which is right next to the lake. The view is amazing. The lake is brilliant for the kids. It's shallow around the edge so the kids can safely play and paddle. We took kayaks but there is also ones to hire. The back fields are also lovely as they have the river to the side. You can walk to the Mount Snowden trails from site which is what some of us did. There is a lovely walk all the way around the lake. Some of us did cliff jumping into the lake. I think the facilities are good for camping. Yes the showers aren't red hot but they are warm enough for it to be comfortable. There is instant hot water available in the washing up area. Plenty of sinks for people to use also. There is a hot food takeaway establishment on site. It is expensive but at least there is the option there if you need it. I would have given 5 star but we had booked for all 3 of our tents to be together 6 months in advance and one of them wasnt even though there was an empty space next to us the whole time we was there. We did ask at check in if we could use this space but was told someone was booked in it and had already checked in. Also on the Saturday we had bad rain and a huge puddle formed underneath our tent. This could do with being filled somehow. Overall though we had a great experience.
What a fab campsite! Beautiful scenery, a lake on the campsite, pitch where you want, fire pits to use but you must buy their logs , plenty of washing up sinks and showers, onsite bar and kitchen for breakfast and tea. You can also hire SUPs, kayaks and canoes at a very reasonable price for the lake. Walking paths from the campsite to snowdon trails and another walking path check out OS maps app. WiFi was hit and miss so don't rely on that. You won't get phone signal here either. The only thing that stopped it from being 5 out of 5 was the toilets and hot water. They could do with a bit of an update and another toilet block to cope with the traffic going in and out of the toilets. Hot water was very hit and miss, most of the time you wouldn't get hot water in the toilets or washing up area but there was a hot water boiler, even though that would soon run out of water and the showers always involved hot and cold water, even during non peak times. The toilet block area also had a constant smell of sewage unfortunately. However, I would definitely come back to this campsite!
