During the 10 minutes whilst I waited for the lady behind the counter to serve the guy in front, I couldn't help but notice her colleague standing at the counter next to her intently gazing at a package in front of him. He'd turn it upside down, tilt it to the left, then walk away from it, all the while making sure no eye contact met waiting customers eagerly willing him to say next. But fair play, he was equally determined not to do so. When i eventually got to the counter, I had to present my passport as proof of identity, and for a solid 5 minutes, she looked closely at it and asked if I was a resident of the country. I was half expecting her to throw it back at me and demand lineage documents and blood samples. Her demeanour was akin to a gestapo interrogator, but the cool under pressure type. All in all my trip to the post office was certainly an experience. Of sorts
A lovely lady named Rachel helped me today with my parcels, she honestly went above and beyond for me and really took her time to help me with everything as I did have a fair few. She also suggested if I sent a good amount of parcels it might make it easier to set up an account so I can just drop parcels off which stops me from spending a lot of time on the self service machines. She has a lovely way with people too as I noticed how she spoke to customers and I believe that customer service like this should be applauded. Thank you Rachel for your kind help.
My hubby managed to change his old bank notes from older series with the assistance of staff here. Btw, heis not from UK, and a non-Caucasian. We are happy with the service.
Young girl and in the post office attitude, is absolutely disgusting not at all professional! In side st John's post office worst customer service I have ever come across
There’s two counters in here, a regular one at the front and one on the right that says ‘Travel Money’ above it. I was waiting at the front of the queue to go to the regular front counter to deposit money for a good while but could see a staff member on the travel money counter with no queue. After about 5 mins waiting at the front I thought I’d go over the the lady at the travel money counter to see if I’m still good to wait in the queue I am in or if I should wait over by the travel money until she or someone else is ready. I didn’t want to look stupid waiting in one queue if I could wait in the other that actually has staff on the counter. I walk over and before I could even say hi, she very abruptly yelled at me “I didn’t say you could come here, go back and stand in the queue until I say you can come over”. I was honestly so shocked because no one has every spoken to me like that in my life. It was beyond rude. I replied saying “sorry I just wanted to ask a question”. She said very patronising “Go stand. Back in the queue. And wait until you’re called over.” I’m so angry at myself for not telling her how mean she was but I have never experienced unwarranted hostility like that. I left because I was genuinely sad and wanted to get out of there. This happened a few months ago but it’s still bothering me and I don’t want her to get away with it. And next time I go in there, If she calls me over I will refuse and offer the person behind to go. It’s truly mad that she hasn’t been fired for speaking to people like that.
The manager Jackie, treated customers with a disgraceful and rude attitude!  The first time I arrived she told me that my EU driving license was no good and I needed a passport of identification. She talked to me like I disturbed her from her daily routine or had done something wrong. The second time I brought the passport she just suddenly decided that she didn't want to do it. When I asked what is the issue she said that since she hadn't provided me with any services she may not explain the reason. I told her that it took me time to travel back home to collect passport, and yet Im rejected in service with absolutely no explanation. Then she gave me a leaflet with contact details for complaints saying that I may call this number with a cynical smile on her face. Shortly I tried to call the number but it was inactive. When popped back to the shop and asked to provide me with an alternative one, she said that she was aware that the phone number didn't work and that I should email instead, and kept smiling like she played me. This was a disgusting experience, especially for the manager of the branch. I went through reviews and saw complaints about her over and over again. I don't understand why the company keeps her as a member of staff as this ruins the corporate reputation of the national chain.
After spend ages queuing you get sent to self service area which then requires assistance as needs authorisation from a member of staff for tracked. Avoid if possible!
Staff are always helpful. I went in today at about 5.30 for a book of stamps I was in a queue of about 14 people, the main counter had one lady serving between the main counter and helping people at the self service, she was back and forth. The one and only guy at the travel money counter besides his usual job he served postage stamps to help out the main counter, I think. Both staff were pleasant and efficient. I really can't praise them enough.
Almost never seem to have staff covering the till upstairs. They seem generally friendly but not trained to help. Couldn’t seem to help regarding potentially lost package… also, I really wish I could go to a human cashier from time to time to deal with my post rather than have 1 human help 5 customers at the self service.
Surprisingly rude staff <- I left this comment two years ago. It's only got worse. I have no idea whether I have to queue for the checkouts or the self-serve - there's no signage or 'triage' service if you like. Invariably, staff just tell you to go to the self-serve where there's usually a young lad running around like a headless chicken dealing with five customers for everyone one the counter staff do. Awful. Can Evri take over please?
