We had a one night stay in room 5, Split level room with lounge and kitchenette, it was amazing for the price, spotless and very modern. We had an evening meal of sharing starter, surf n turf, rump steak raspberry cheesecake and cheese board. It was glorious and well worth the money. Great night sleep was had followed by a fantastic full breakfast This place is first class. We will be staying again
When I went with a group of friends for Sunday lunch I was very underwhelmed.. No beef or lamb options, hardly any veg and hard potatoes which I think were meant to be roasted... I'm not a foodie or a good cook but I could knock up better at home in a very short time! Nice company though so we had a great time. Staff were very nice!
We had a fantastic relaxed lunch for five of us, the food and service were excellent and the staff happy to tweak an order for our fussy kids. A really nice welcoming and clean pub, a shame we couldn't stop for longer! We'll be back next time we're in the area. Vegetarian options: Our veggie friend was happy with the choices on offer. She had Mushroom Linguine and said it was great. Kid-friendliness: Staff were happy to tweak an order to suit our fussy kids - sausage, mash and gravy on the menu, became sausage, chips and peas. Parking: A few parking spaces at the back, a bit busy, but plenty of room on street out the front too.
We stayed here last night and had a really good experience. Food was top quality, we had the mixed grill and crumble, staff super friendly and attentive which can be a rarity and they kept us well oiled with drinks all night! The room was cozy and functional with only one drawback, travelling around the hotel in the bed when having sexy time, as it was on wheels? Beds on wheels, don’t recommend that one!
Good customer service with excellent breakfast. The oly downside are the cold bedrooms and lack of bedding And also the accessible room is upstairs so when the lift doesn't work and the staff on duty do not know how to restart it. Luckily I am not in a wheelchair and with some difficulty did manage to get up the stairs. However almost all these problems were excused because of the plus points. Just bring a spare pillow and quilt in the boot of your car
Based on reading some reviews, I had higher expectations. Fluff on carpet, didn't appear hoovered, crumbs in cutlery holder, cup stain marks on dresser top, nowhere to do my hair as the only mirror wasn't located near an electric socket. Split level- bedroom + shower was in the loft and I kept hitting my head on the ceiling and I am only 5ft 4in tall, so I could only use 65% of the space, I even kept hitting my head when trying to brush my teeth! Downstairs had oversized dated sofa with and a hide-away bed behind it and another single bed pushed against the wall and the sofa making it look like a storage area for excess furniture, not an inviting sitting area to relax in.
A dreadful experience. We booked a table for 10 people to celebrate my son's 30th on Monday 26th. It was a very scaled down menu in the restaurant, not the online one expected. It took an hour for the meals to be served. The 3 fish and chips had nearly raw chips and stone cold peas. The 2 rice dishes were so oily they were nauseating and the rice was barely cooked. Mine was inedible. The salmon dish arrived without the noodles and non subsequently came. The mash with the sausage dish was excessively salted and inedible. The burgers were ok but came with only a few brown skinny fries. I complained several times but only got 1 bowl of chips and new peas. It couldnt have been a bigger disappointment and complete waste of money. The lady in charge would only give a 10% discount off the food so it was expected we should pay 90% for wholly unacceptable food and service. She asked for my details to pass on to the manager and head chef and neither has made any attempt to contact me. Only later did I also notice that they had the gall to add over £22 service charge, without asking. I would still appreciate contact and more appropriate amends made. Booked in the name of Sale.
Very nice place with plenty of character. Clean, tidy & comfortable environment. Friendly staff serving good food & a nice selection of drinks. Will be recommending & returning. 5* review well deserved. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choice for vegetarians & also option to Customise dishes to cater for taste & preference.
A great wee hotel, staff and service second to none.breakfast superb.nothing is too much trouble.friendliest pub I have been in.
Recently visited for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Very friendly and attentive waiting staff along with great food and service. The only gripe hence four stars is that I felt £9 for a child's roast dinner was expensive for what was served. Other than that, all was very good and we would happily return.
