The staff here are always friendly and helpful. The good is great, especially the breakfasts which are taste really nice and are a good size. There are a good number of tables which are clean. We visit regularly and recommend a visit for a bgood breakfast.
Stopped at the Little Chef Black Cat at about 1.30pm for lunch hoping that it would still be open having heard they are closing them very quickly since February 2017. Excellent food and service just like Little Chefs in days of old! The restaurant itself looked very clean and modern to me unlike another reviewer stating it looked worn out?! Toilets were also very clean. The lady at the payment till said they usually closed about 4pm each day depending how busy they were. I hope this one survives!
To be honest I wasn't expecting anything special but the table service and food was really very good. I had the scampi which was way better than some local pubs with perhaps more reputable names. The service was quick and friendly, I just wish I had some cash I could have tipped with. Instead I'll give a glowing review!
It's a Nice, Nice Little Chef. Comfortable, Cosy, welcoming, customer focussed and pleasant. The Olympic breakfast was very tasty. The staff are professional and polite. Probably the Best Little Chef I have been in. All little chefs are good. This one is Exceptional. My personal score 10/10.
A great place to take a break on the A1. Clean and bright, good menu choices and very pleasant staff. Not a 'Little Chef' anymore but it has all the same décor that I really liked about 'Little Chefs'. Loved the bird song playing in the loos!
Woefully understaffed this morning. Nearly 10 minutes before my order was taken then nearly a twenty minute wait for the food. Only one cook and one waitress who was run ragged, poor girl. Then, after another wait to pay, I was told my £8 Breakfast special that included a hot drink was actually £8.20 because I had a latte coffee but nothing on the promotion card specified this. Made me even more cross and put the poor waitress in a difficult position.
Very nice place to relax and have a coffee break. The bacon butty was excellent, better than the pancakes that were a bit stogy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Very clean and bright restaurant.
Great Little Chef on the junction of A421 and A1 at the black cat roundabout. There is a petrol station on site too. The restaurant is clean, the staff are really lovely and the food as per the menu. Clean Loos with birdsong playing! They sell takeaway cakes and sweets.
If I could, I'd give zero stars!! Despite the website stating this restaurant is open until 21:00 every day, I found out otherwise on a Sunday afternoon at 16:20. Driving my family home, we were all hungry & looking forward to a tasty meal rather than a dull sandwich from a garage, or a bland trip to the chain with the arches. The place was deserted, no lights on & was clearly closed, there was no notice in the window, as we were leaving I asked at the Travelodge next door to be told it closes at 16:00 every day.
The food as always was excellent as was the service but the resturant and particularly the toilets are really tatty. The seats are all worn and frayed in thr eating area and the carpet is dirty. Please have a refurb Little Chef.
