Loved it! Good area to go walking keep in mind that cyclists also use the same walking lane as the pedestrians however it's well sign posted with priority given to walkers. Lots of ducks & swans live here and there is plenty of benches scattered around the walking lane should you chose to take a rest. I loved the views and there's also the added benefit of a coffee shop
What a wonderful spot and certainly somewhere I’ll be returning to repeatedly. For some reason I’d imagined there being more activities, especially for children, but instead you’re left to your own devices with walks and cycle tracks through the forest and canal area. Not that this is anything to complain about though - it’s all signposted well, the tracks are in great condition and there’s lots of space for everyone. The main camp itself is a fantastic retreat though, with seating / tables on the lawn as well as veranda overlooking the canal. There’s a sizeable food and drink menu which one can order from through an app as well as from the plentiful staff roaming around. The waiting staff are certainly on the inexperienced side, however food is brought in good time and portion size can’t be complained about with the prices. The burger was flavoursome and while somewhat basic in presentation was completely satisfying - you come here for the location and relaxing setting primarily. Drinks were perfectly cold upon serving, all the tables were cleans and there’s plenty of toilets on site. This is a wonderful spot in Bedford and even if you’re not in the area for cycling or a long walk, it’s worth the trip on a nice day.
Stopped here during a long bike ride and it was just what we needed! Great food a little expensive and the staff were so friendly x
Lovely wind down food with great views and very friendly team.
We walked from priory marina in Bedford along the lively bridleway and stopped for something to eat. The setting is beautiful, service is spot on however a tad over priced for what you get. Now don't get me wrong the food was lovely but 2 cokes 2 sausage sandwiches which came with chips shouldn't really cost £20-26.
Absolutely lovely venue and scenery. The staff are extremely kind and helpful especially if you have certain food intolerance. A lovely meet up with an old friend today, made perfect by the staff. I had baked beans on sourdough toast today, quite simply the best I ever had .
Beautiful setting! Good choice of food and drink. Ozzie the owl is also a great feature alongside the other bigger Avery. Looking forward to next summer when we will have the opportunity to rent a boat!
I absolutely love it here, the food is absolutely amazing and the fact you are sat next to the water watching the boats go by just makes it even nicer. All the staff working here are really nice, friendly and down to earth. 5/5
Unfortunately the service at the counter has no smiles, pleases or thank you. There were several empty tables which we had to clear ourselves before we sat down. The tables had sauce stuck to it, sugar spilt and crumbs last customers or even customer's before. The positive though is that the coffee was good and the view smashing.Food: 3/5
Very disappointed with the quality of my baked potato, which tasted like it had been cooked a long while, surprising as we ate soon after 12noon, but the accompanying salad was good. Both our meals were over priced but the situation by the river is nice and it was good to see the birds in the aviary.
