Lincolnshire Poacher

About

Serving 13 real ales, traditional cider, 60+ Single Malts, home cooked food and a fine selection of continental beers. We are the Lincolnshire Poacher

Story

The Lincolnshire Poacher has been part of Nottingham’s real ale drinking scene for so long that it’s easy to forget that it only opened in the late 1980′s, rising from the shell of the Old Grey Nags Head which had been closed by Shipstones.

In partnership with Wainfleet brewers, George Bateman & Sons Ltd, the ‘Poacher’ quickly earned a reputation as one of THE places in Nottingham for quality and choice of ale, a distinction it has never lost.

Alongside its excellent reputation for ale, the Lincolnshire Poacher is also part of a small group of Castle Rock pubs aiming to provide you with a dynamic and enlightening world beer experience, as part of our “Discover World Beers” initiative.

The large public bar is complemented by a large outside high walled beer garden.

One of the best, ever-changing beer selections in Nottingham. A craft or real ale to suit every taste and short but decent list of wines. Great beer garden and regular music on Sunday evenings. Haven't tried the food yet, but it always looks and smells good. Recommended.
First time coming here, went for Sunday dinner and a pint, they had a nice selection for a veggie/vegan roast dinner with 3 different nut roast to choose from, I had the Tofu, mushroom and walnut nut roast, my wife had the parsnip and apple soup, both were beautiful and very tasty, The roast potatoes were lovely, nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on outside, The homemade Yorkshire puddings were gorgeous and the veg were perfect, not mushy and they had had a good bite to them, The staff were lovely and very welcoming, would definitely go back again
Got to be one of the best Sunday lunches available. Lovely staff, authentic atmosphere and beer. Dog friendly too. 5 stars all the wayFood: 5/5
Great beer , excellent food, first class service. Lunch time lacks the atmosphere of evenings but still cool.Food: 4/5
First time here. Great selection of Castle Rock and guest beers, both cask and craft. An amazing array of Whiskies adorns the back of the bar, so if whisky is your thing, this is the place for you. It seems quite small on first look as you walk in, as the bar is at the front of the building. There is more seating behind the bar and a decent size outdoor area too. Had three drinks at the bar and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
Great selection of beers. The outdoor garden is well preserved and loads of space with some individual areasService: 4/5
Another great castle rock boozer with a vast selection of beers. If you’re into whiskey there’s loads of that too. Always very chilled and offers a good respite after wandering along Mansfield road.
Good range of well kept beers, and excellent whisky selection. Staff are very friendly, and dogs are welcome. Live music a few times a week.Service: 5/5
Great real ale pub Not many left, so give it a goService: 4/5
