We had an excellent time last night for a 60th birthday. The atmosphere was brilliant. Lauren went the extra mile and made a big birthday really special. Thank you so much xService: 5/5
It is a nice bar with a bit of history attached and a good place to meet up with friends or work colleagues. It often has live music in the evenings which can make it difficult to talk, but great if you want to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a pint. Plenty of guest ales on tap.Atmosphere: 4/5
We would have gladly given this pub 5 stars until yesterday, we found this pub when looking for live music and we can at least highly recommend it for the music, but the service was exceptionally poor last night especially from the deputy manager, we chose to leave early before the set was done. and as we were leaving a separate group of people stopped us and encouraged us to make a complaint about him as they had also had issues. A real shame as we’ve loved coming here for the music, but not sure we will be back
Lovely place with very nice and welcoming bar staff. Unfortunately spoiled by "regulars" that seem to be able to get away with anything because they are regulars. The male bar manager has no diplomacy whatsoever and lets the pub down. I used to go every week but no longer attend after being pushed out by threatening behaviour from regulars that has been allowed to continue on more than 2 occasions with no action. Again, great bar staff but terrible Bar Manager who's borderline discriminatory in his decision making.
The fruit loop playing the fruit machines all afternoon ruined our visit. Two other couples and a single man both left because of him. We were determined to stick it out as long as we could but enough was enough. He does this otherwise very pleasant pub no favours!
Nice pub, chilled but has moments of filling up quickly and emptying quickly. Has a style of its own, lovely staffService: 4/5

Popular with theatre goers. Situated in an area that features a few very popular bars, where it takes forever to get served. You are definitely better off having a few in here before you even think about heading to the bars. Lovely layout with a good selection of beers on the go. Toilets are a bit manky. Nice outside area to watch the world go by.
Good place to watch sports. Good range of ales and lagers. We booked a table for the fa cup final, good atmosphere,nice fellow punters and friendly staff.Service: 4/5
