Lidl
"Everyone knows we're Lidl on price. So, it's time to tell you what we're Big on. We're Big on Quality. Big on the big shop. Big on all the things that matter. Big on the things that make cupboards and bellies and life feel fuller. Big on detergent that gets your socks white and cheese that knocks them off. Big on carrots that crunch and chillies with bite. Big on cuisine from far and wide, and meat from local farmers. Big on brands and biscuits and baby stuff and bicycle pumps and butter. We're Big on everything. Except of course, on price, because that's where we'll always be Lidl."

Small Lidl but with everything you would need. They have meat and fish, stuff for home and DIY. There is also a section for out of season products.
This shop is more expensive for basics than Tesco's next door. 6 large eggs £2.69, Tescos have 10 large eggs for £2:40. Staff were helpful though but wouldn't shop in here in the future.
I'm sorry to say this but three times now I have been overcharged by the cashiers, either been charged for something that was not mine and charged twice for the same item. Even when I noticed an item that was not mine, I told them it's not mine but they still charged me for it, and took it away. So I recommend you check your receipt before you leave the shop. Very disappointed with lidl's these days.
Potential Scam Alert!!! Sharing my experience yesterday to warn everyone and avoid being a victim. I was shopping in Lidl yesterday. Our Lidl branch is a small one and the counter space after scanning by the staff is so small that I had to do the packing on the floor. I was not watching while she was scanning the items. The total was £26 which seemed high considering the items I bought were small packs of food items. Usually I check the receipt just before leaving the store but on this occasion it started raining and I wanted to go home immediately. When I reached home, I checked the receipt and saw that one item was listed 5x instead of 3. This was an additional £1.98. I bought minced meat that was 30% off, so I checked to see that it was the reduced price on the receipt. It was. But when I scanned further down, I saw that it was repeated at FULL PRICE of £3.15! In total I was OVERCHARGED £5.13! I don't know about you, but this is a big amount to be have been done "accidentally". I had no choice. I had to go back amidst the rain straightaway, to that same counter and same lady. I brought my shopping with me as proof. When it was my turn, she had a poker face on. When she asked what was the concern, I said that some items were scanned several times. I explained that I only bought 3 orange and 3 green breadsticks packs but was charged a total of 8. She looked around and looked back at me and said she will sort it out. She thought that was it. I then said "And there's another one. The minced meat that was reduced was scanned again at full price. In total I was overcharged by more than 5 pounds." By this time, people from other counters were looking at me. I wasn't trying to make scene. But it was a small supermarket, and everyone queueing heard me. This was good; at least they are warned. She looked more uncomfortable now and quickly replied to me,"Oh so sorry about that. I will get this refunded to you right now." She replied too quick, as if to hush me so that other customers wouldn't know about it. She didn't even bother checking my shopping. It almost felt like she knew about it, and was not happy that I found out but had to deal with it. She quickly got the manager's fob and processed the refund. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and just left quietly after the refund was sorted. But deep inside I had the gut feeling that it was intentional. If an item was scanned already with the reduced price barcode covering the original barcode, how could it be scanned again in it's original price, unless it was intentionally done. If it was one item scanned twice, then maybe it could be accidental, but not 3 additional charges. I may be wrong. Maybe it was an honest mistake. Crisis or no crisis, every pound counts. You can't just go around double scanning things. I am just thinking of all the older people who shop here at our branch. They are always just so trusting and do not have time to check their receipts. I wondering if this has happened to them as well. I hope not. I saw another review saying the same so this is not an isolated case. Takeaway lesson from this experience: 1. Look whilst your items are being scanned. Better yet, go to self-checkout kiosk. 2.Check your receipt whilst you are still in the supermarket/store. This saves you the trouble of coming back. Thanks for reading. I hope this does not happen to you. Keep vigilant.
If this is the one in uk needs updating not beenin there since mov8ng away from wgc and it has hardley improved at all...needs to update 8n line with their èuropean stores
Great shopping experience, cheap prices, and food good quality especially their meat produce xx
They sell those egg custard tarts you can get in Lisbon Portugal gorgeous
Public Car park outside where you can usually find a space. All the basics you would expect. If you buy soft fruit use it the same day or within 48 hrs as it does not last. If you buy discounted items make sure they put them through at the reduced price as they do not put the stickers over the original bar code like other stores, and often put them through at full price, then say “the discount wasn’t facing the cashier” so is why they get 3 stars as I have had this problem several times.
Went this evening and there were lots empty shelves and products missing from stock, couldnt get things I wanted. Good range and reasonable prices though some things cheaper at other supermarkets. Always long queues for the till as never seem to have enough staff on and only call someone to till when queue is half way up the aisles.
Lidl stick to their motto, 'little on price, big on quality', and quantity of course. I enjoy shopping there every time because they have a wide range of reasonably priced goods.
