Story

Levanter opened in Ramsbottom in April 2014 - previously having been in business since 2011 catering at food & music festivals, & bringing amazing authentic Spanish produce to markets & events. Now settled in bricks & mortar on Square Street, we serve small tapas plates, wines, sherries & beers - all Spanish & all traditional dishes that we've enjoyed ourselves during our travels in Spain.

Fabulous food but sorry I really don't get this restaurant! It is far too cramped. We sat up stairs between two other couples. I had to move the table out to squeeze through the tiny gap, I am under 8 stone and couldn't get through without disturbing both couples to our left and right. Anyone bigger than me would have been really embarrassed.! Is it too much to ask for a comfy seat and not to be sharing dinner with four strangers. Waited too long for the bill and then offered to pay at the bar. I said to the lady behind the bar that we were trying to pay our bill but had been waiting some time. She was rude and said 'sorry but I have been busy we decided not to tip. This restaurant could be great if they had bigger premises or didn't squeeze in so many tables. Not a great experience. Dining out needs to be about the overall experience not just the food.

Great food and vibe. Always busy, walk-ins only so be prepared to wait a while for a table, or you can chill out and eat at the bar. #edit: now takes reservations so a little less authentic, you can still chance a walk in but you may not get a table#

It was ok nothing special .staff very slow . The prices of the drinks was very expensive at the end of the day it's just a wine bar with very poor seating

Lovely Spanish food, great atmosphere and good service. On a recent visit the ham and paella were especially good. Baraxturburi round the corner is owned by the same guy and is good too.

Great food and ambience. Would recommend the sobrasada toast which was fantastic. We'll be back..
