Family was visiting from Florida and we decided to try a meal at Hearth of the Ram. Everyone had something different and there was no complaints. I personally had the beef burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. It was huge and flavorful. Chips were nicely done. Beer was good and cold. We had 5 or 6 different servers check on Us or provide things asked for. The price was more than We normally spend on a meal, but by no means felt they were over the top. I had read other reviews here with complaints about how long food took or lack of service. It was surely not the case on our visit. The place was fairly busy with people seated indoors and outdoors since weather was great. We had drinks in 5 minutes, our meals served at 40 minutes. Nice atmosphere inside the place.
Read the review and got so confused as I have a lovely experience at the restaurant. The staff was friendly and switched on. The food was lovely. Pizza has nice crust on them and the duck was tasty
Big shout out to Ewan and staff for making my 50th birthday last night at short notice for 9. Perfect disabled access for my mum, and the 3 steaks that were ordered were all cooked to perfection. Not one complaint about the food! It was delicious Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room between tables to get to the toilet. Staff then provided a ramp to get in and out of the restaurant.
Had dinner here with friends last year during a stay for a wedding. It was particularly busy so we had to wait at the bar for a table. Service was slow as you can imagine during busy periods. The food was very good as were the drinks. The overall decor and feel was great, we were sat out in the conservatory area which was warm too.
This was once my favourite restaurant in Ramsbottom but it seems they’ve changed chefs recently. Last 3 times there have been major issues, so I will not be returning. On two occasions the chips were undercooked and on the third the manager was very rude. The prices have also gone ridiculously expensive, they charge £30 for a fillet steak by itself then it’s extra for sides & sauces, meaning it ends up about £40. I’ve never been anywhere that’s charged so much. Such a shame as I frequented here weekly but will not be returning again. There are plenty of top quality restaurants in Ramsbottom where I’d rather spend my money.
Recently dined in for a Sunday Lunch, service from the Manager on shift was absolutely shocking. It came across like everything we asked for was an inconvenience to him. Had to wait 40 minutes for starters, one of which was just bread and olives! The main course took over an hour to arrive after that. When the food did arrive, was average and quite bland. Not once did any of the staff come to apologise or ask if there was anything we needed. Clearly the chefs and the manager do not know how to run a busy restaurant.
Utterly abysmal. 1 hour wait from starters to mains. Perfect if you want a free bottle of wine to keep you going until they get to you. Half the mains arrived 5 mins before the other. Manager about as rude as they come. That aside, the food is mediocre and they can’t seem to make it hot. If you can’t serve a table of 13 then don’t take the booking.
Fantastic venue, service was amazing. Food seems to be better than ever before. 1st class....
Great food here can be a bit slow at times but I think that may be because everything tastes so fresh.
Not sure if it was just busy because of the pudding throwing but we had a very long wait 90 mins between arriving for our table and getting main and when the toast turned up it was very disappointing with hard veg, anemic "roast" potatoes and thin gravy. Young staff seemed fed up and in the end we left without getting all our courses. Fancies itself as higher market sunday lunch but needs to get the basics right before worrying about charging £20+.
