This is a castle ruin but quite alot is still standing again very difficult for the disabled but your entry is FREE AND YOUR CARER. VERY IMPRESSED . lovely well kept grounds and games for kids of every age ....really lovely helpful staff here. You can climb up one of the remaining towers and enjoy srunning views over the estuary and the town well worth it for the hardy ones . The steps are high so don't recomend you try if not fit . The grounds are delightful too give it a try .Great place for the kids
Beautiful location and views from the top of the castle. There were many comments that this is not a dog friendly place but that isn't true. You can visit it with the dog just cannot go up the towers which should be a common sense. Worth visiting and really enjoyed it.
Damaged by Cromwells troops.nThen partially restored using brick.nLovely and peacfull with benches for sitting in the sunshine.nVisited Dylan Thomases gazebo, where he did a lot of composing in later years.
Looks a nice castle. Unfortunately due for maintenance but still worth dropping by because the view of the castle from the Green car park is great and the other views are great as well.
