Amazing place for all the museum lovers. This place is so peaceful and calm. We got a guilded tour from the director. I just love how he explained everything and also involved us at the same time. Thank you for also showing us the storage area where there are like 30,000 collected things. We got to see some very expensive stuff too. It was for sure a fabulous experience. Do try the tour and highly recommend visiting this museum wherever you are.
Excellent music event, which was free. Fascinating exhibits. Parking right outside was free in the evening.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Such a wonderful hidden free delight of Birmingham! Very proud to show a non-Midlands-native how many things came from our little land. Taken from various midlands collections and digs, genuinely surprised me how much we contributed to learning more about our planet's evolution. Yes it's a small museum but I liked the layout and signage, as well as the rockwall, a particular visual treat. Will come back to properly check out the upstairs mineral collection; give yourself an hour and a half as 1hr isn't enough!
Must visit museum for kids and all. You can finish visiting within a short time or else if you go in details will take the whole day.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely museum, great day out for kids who have an interest in rocks, fossils and the world, only a small place which i would say 2 hours at the most but worth a visitVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Loved Lapworth museum, the displays were great and well explained. Loved the different rocks and gems . Really loved the dinosaur displays as well. It's free and great for kids and adults interested in dinosaurs, evolution, rocks and geology.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Free visit. Such a wonderful display of items and everything is well explained. It's 100% worth the visist and kids would enjoy it very much as well. The shop also has some great items although a bit expensive.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Little University Museum but lots of gems for little dino lovers, plus plenty of crystals. Free entryVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I'd love to give five stars to this museum, it's a gem: But I feelt unwelcome. Car access to the campus is through a barrier and it's necessary to press an out of reach, for me, button to have it opened. And once inside there is zero signage. This is a big site it needs signs. Once you discover the elusive Lapworth Museum 'where are the toilets'. Again, almost, no signs. And the coffee shop? Nope. Not there. Nothing at all. I wanted to spend more time here, but thirst eventually dictated. So in summary: A great little museum, well laid out and full of interest. But zero love for the casual visitor.
Really enjoyed it. Took my youngest three children 14, 6 & 3 who also enjoyed seeing all the dinosaur bones and fossils, skulls, Earth information and activities. You don't get many activities that are free so take the opportunity and find your inner geek. Definitely worth a visit and we will be returning in the future Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
