As a Toyota loyal customer, I have not received a reasonable level of satisfaction visiting this Toyota branch on the 11/01/2023. I reserved a Toyota Corolla 2021. My salesman was Lee Hilder. A very nice guy over the phone! He guaranteed the car is pet free and smoke free as I have some sever allergies. I drove down from Glasgow to their branch, a good 170 miles and 3 hrs 30 mins behind the wheel. The first thing I witnessed was my watery eye, because the car wasn’t pet free. I raised my concern to Lee and he changed his approach and voice aggressive more than serious- it happens when someone trying to cover their lies and stated that “it’s pet free for me!” THE CAR WAS PET FREE FOR HIM! SMASHING I then took the car for a test drive and as it was a very nice experience driving the car I said I am gonna get a cover for the seats and give the car a nice good deep clean and it’s worth it! At that point I noticed six signs of careless driving around the car, scratches and damages! Not really fair to call it wears and tears for the age of the car. They deducted £300, I spoke with their manager and we both agreed the damages are not worth £300 and could be thousands! He offered £500 off the car and letted me do another 170 miles back to Glasgow, empty handed! I think Lee is an Arnold Clark’s salesman and not a Toyota one! I didn’t expect what happened to me as I have been dealing with Robert in Helensburgh Toyota and Dominic in Stirling quite differently, they are friends more than salesmen! I won’t get a car for free of this branch as the money and deals are just excuses and life is not just a business! A wee £500 up or down won’t make someone poor or rich! even a thousand but the feeling that you were scammed will last for ever! He could’ve told me it’s not pet free and send me a picture of the scratches around the car and tell me this is what it is it! Do you wanna take it? Then life would’ve been much easier! ######UPDATED####### Indeed Mr Chris Robert phoned me to take their personal pride to fulfill their service and called my review unfair! Oh what a shame! I have been free all my life to just do 7 hours of driving to visit their branch and to trust their lies and fraudulent services! Also I don’t have any work or family commitments! No time or money been wasted even emotions or feelings! And it’s all about a negative review to be taken down so they can hopefully get to success with their scams and fraudulent service so they can make more profit! Well done! I just wonder how selfish a person could be to not to see all of this happening to me and after all ask me to take down my review! I have complained to Toyota and asked for compensation, but not for your £500 offered one! My compensation is To take this seriously and to STOP Toyota salesmen from making false statements, telling lies, attempting to scam customers and if they can’t offer a reasonable customer service then just slowly goodbye to market competition! Being cheap or having discounts in place is not always attract customers, quality and reliability is important! Not everyone as miserable as your salesmen! Trying every possible disgusting option to make an extra £100 commission on sales!
Brilliant and stress free experience from start to finish. This is the second time I’ve used Toyota Wearside. Due to the great service received the first time I now make a longer trip to come here, as I live outside of the Sunderland area. They’ve been great each time, definitely recommend.
Stress-free purchase of Toyota Yaris thanks to my Sales Exec Carl who couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. No hard sell, I gave Carl my specification and budget and when he found the used car that fit my brief I bought it. As simple as that. A great car - my second purchase from this Toyota group. Highly recommended.
£120 for a new tyre. £220 labour cost to remove locking wheel nuts without key. £50 replacement. Would’ve took 2 hours to do. Went to my local garage and job was done in half an hour for £80 including a new tyre.

Brought my daughters car in for a service and Mot, Gavin McGough and his team were very professional and courteous, great service! I would highly recommend Toyota Wearside.
Helpful parts department. Always get my Subaru BRZ parts from here. I lost my locking wheel nut and one of the partsmen tried the locking wheels nuts from the master set outside for me. Didn't match up but I appreciate the effort to have a try. Whoever was on shift at 15/10/22 deserves recognition. Thank you

Staff are helpful but not pushy. Changed car, it was done quickly not to much paperwork, which was explained and easily accessed by email
Fantastic service from a knowledgeable team, who dealt with my specialist , vintage Toyota remarkably well. Special thanks to Gavin, who is a real star, always helpful and professional. Thanks to the guys in the body shop for making the car as good as new. Everybody has noticed what a good job you have done.
