We overnighted here using the 1 day with overnight option on the MIPERMIT app, only downside was I couldn’t extend before it had run out, but my partner was able to initiate a new payment on his phone halfway up Skiddaw! Quiet clean car park with dog walking and washing in the lake! plus good coffee at The Moon and Six with public toilets which we didn’t use.. The boardwalk loop around Derwentwater was beautiful and accessible. No grey or black waste and no water which was a shame. Poor data coverage; one bar max. Would definitely stay here again and book into the lakeside theatre adjacent. Short walk into Keswick, would recommend Brunches for breakfast and the Dog and Gun for beer, goulash and to meet other decent folk! Also Setmabanning caravan park great for hookup and water with good access to dog walks and reasonably priced.
Great place to park for the Derwent water ferry. Easy access. From £3.60 for 2 hours . Lots of space. Toilets 50p. 5 minutes to ferry , theatre and crow park. Good base to visit Keswick.
Plenty of parking spots, in typical Lake District style it wasn't cheap and it's 50p to use the toilets.nnCracking views of the sunset just across the road and also the start of a great circular walk around Derwent water.
Amazing place. Struggled with payment. Didn't accept cards, no connection to reach the app. On the end mamaged with coins. Amazing view. Closse to Hope park.
The location itself is 10/10 but the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is due to the expensive parking but also the machines not working.nnConsidering 3 cars each we paid £8.20 for 6 hours, I would at the very least expect the machines to be maintained and for the contactless to work. Also a little disappointing that it costs 50p to use the changing rooms/loos.nnOther than that, it's a beautiful location with a lot of parking but gets very busy very quickly. Easy access to the water for paddle boarding or any sort of activity. Would recommend bringing something for your feet as it can be a little rough.
