All around terrific, family owned restaurant! Wonderful Risotto Milanese...I always add shrimp. A perfect Entree!! My family has been dining here for more than 25 years and have never had a bad meal! Vegetarian options: Lots of Pasta choices. All can be done without meat. Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids. Will do 1/2 portions. No kids menu. Parking: Small parking lot but, there is street parking.
We were really impressed with the food. It's very close to an authentic Italian cuisine. Great atmosphere, great service. Very cozy inside.
Just visited this place for the first time with my friend. We both loved it! My friend got the Pappardelle Al Cinghiale and I got the spinach and cheese ravioli with a brown butter and sage sauce. Absolutely amazing flavor in both our dishes. I got the feeling anything at this place is good. Parking is limited so, going early is a good idea. I highly recommend this spot and will be visiting regularly.
On the positive side, the bruschetta was really good, the warm and crispy bread, and the friendly service. The mushroom risotto was awful and the lasagna wasn’t tasty.
Everything thing was great except for one small detail, which we didn'teven bother mentioning to the staff. The appetizer soup was not hot, barely lukewarm. Loved the mom and pop vibe. Everything was delicious.Food: 5/5
Truly deserving 0 stars for a very bad experience. Unfortunately the parents left their daughters running this place now, and like many restaurants that are inconsistent and descend, La Toscana is now in that category. Dismissive service, poorly prepared food, and for that I would never return. There are better places that deserve the business.
I love their house Tuscan Bean Soup. Family owned, important, long-time Marin restaurant. Excellent choice for special occasions!Food: 5/5
Utterly ordinary food at premium prices. We were excited by the prior reviews but it’s just didn’t pan out. The waiter didn’t seem to know much about the menu, just saying everything is good and not really able to explain anything. It kind of dashed our hopes of finding their go-to or quintessential Italian dish. We sent back our drinks a couple times before it became clear that the bartender wasn’t really one. The lamb, streak and antipasto were as plain and every day as mall Italian. We were really disappointed we it’s Kobe that definitely was not and the under seasoned land. The tiramisu was the saving grace we were told it would be. Definitely real ingredients, really made. Well, you win some and...
Phenomenal food, terrific service, awesome ambience. Since we don't live in the area, we're going again today. You must dine here!
This place is very popular with regulars. There is a tiny parking lot adjacent but it was completely full. We had to park about 2 blocks away on a dimly lit street. This is not a good neighborhood and it was a bit scary. The atmosphere was nice but the noise was so loud you could not speak without yelling. We were there on a Friday night. Reservations were for 6:30pm and we were seated at 7:05pm. Our waiter was great but there was lack of back up service like bringing us water or drinks. We ordered the special which was Salman over Lemon Risotto and Arugula salad on top. The flavors were wonderful but the Risotto was room temperature. This was my first experience here and I have mixed feelings. I would definitely go back and try it again!
