Coffee is great, pastries are even better. There is a variety of pastries to choose from, we got: double baked almond croissant, earl grey swirl, and the miso bun. The dough itself is flakey, buttery, and soft on the inside. The almond croissant was exceptional. The filling was perfectly sweet. Will definitely be visiting again.
Kossofs has been our new favourite go to coffee/bakery spot in the neighbourhood since they opened last year. The pastries are some of the best I've tried in London. Personal weekly go to's are the pains au chocolat and the chocolate pecan cookies but I have tried most of the pastries and they are all great. The sausage rolls with a special homemade brown sauce were also a highlight but not sure they are still on the menu ?.
Popped in here after social pottery. Absolutely delicious. Had a lovely potato zhoug and green curry aubergine salad- full of flavour and good portion. Then had a cinnamon roll and I think it's the best I've had and I've had them in Finland. Delicious croissant style really yummy buttery and good amount of cinnamon. I might be getting terms wrong. Also definitely one of the best coffees I got - well made and good flavour
Croissants are unreal, focaccias a bit greasy. Still, you won't find friendlier staff or more competitive prices for this quality anywhere in London, well done everyone! Quite roomy to dine in too.
What a delightful place to grab good coffee and insanely good croissants. I stumbled across this lovely cafe in desperate need of something for breakfast. I’d grabbed a coffee earlier from a place up the road which was disappointing. Armed with a new coffee and a fresh croissant, I couldn’t help but smile as I walked back to the station. I think I actually found myself talking out loud about how good the croissant was. I am so confident, I will bring a dear French friend with me to get the Parisian stamp of approval. Staff were awesome. One noticed my coffee from another cafe and asked about it. When I said it wasn’t great, she said, “Let’s fix that!” Genuinely unexpected and made my day. I converted and plan to return tomorrow.
I would give it 4 stars because the quantity of chocolate in the pain au chocolate was not great, but there's another part of me feeling that apart from the chocolate quantity, this is by far the best pain au chocolate I've ever had I'm my life. And I've tried a lot. I didn't get to taste other things as I was rushing to work. The staff are lovely, especially the girl who served me. It's a bit expensive but you pay for the quality. Would definitely recommend it.
Their bread has a great crust and flavour and the laminated pastries were all absolutely delicious! The level of sweetness was spot on and all of them were perfectly crispy and still moist inside. I tried the Kouign Amann amazing caramelization and slight citrusy flavours , the double baked Pain au Chocolat with almonds on top, the Earl grey swirl a delight to look at and to eat, the miso swirl, the dark sourdough bread and a chocolate pecan cookie very buttery and flavorful. On top of that, the staff is genuinely nice and friendly. I can't recommend this bakery enough! They really know what they are doing and do it with and eye for details and joy.
Kossoffs is always my first stop when I’m in Kentish Town. From the coffee through all the breads, pastries and salads everything is well thought through and beautifully displayed. Super stylish bakery that never disappoints. Their twice baked almond croissant is a must….
My review is based on the choco-almond croissant. The texture is excellent, lots of almonds and the chocolate paste is unique in that is has a hint of sea salt I think. I would give 5 stars, but I found the croissant overall too oily and too sweet. It’s so close to being perfect, but it was hard to finish the croissant as the sweetness was just too overpowering. Also my hands became unusually oily which I have not really experienced before. I wondered if the croissant was glazed in a maple or golden syrup or even honey. It was very delicious honestly but i think it’s to sweet and needs some slight adjustment. I would come back still as the rest of the pastries looks excellent and the other reviews say the coffee is good too!
Delicious sandwiches served on perfect crusty sourdough, packaged up in neat brown paper parcels. Recommend the BLT and the jerk chicken sandwich. Incredible array of pastries and cakes too, so worth saving room for dessert, or take some to go!
