Knightsbridge Tube Station

Story

Knightsbridge is a London Underground station in Knightsbridge, London. It is on the Piccadilly line between South Kensington and Hyde Park Corner, and is in Travelcard Zone 1.HistoryThe station was opened on 15 December 1906 by the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (GNP&BR, now the Piccadilly line). When opened, the platforms were accessed in the standard manner by four lifts and an emergency staircase connecting to parallel passageways and bridges to midway along the platforms. The original station building designed by Leslie Green was located on Brompton Road a short distance west of its junction with Knightsbridge and Sloane Street. A rear entrance was located on Basil Street. The location of the station in a busy and fashionable shopping district meant that patronage at the station was high from the beginning, particularly due to the presence locally of the Harrods and Harvey Nichols emporiums. This contrasted with the next station on the line westward — Brompton Road — where passenger numbers were so low that from soon after its opening many trains were timetabled not to stop there.

Extremely busy road but lots of interesting shops! Station has good exit signs. More than one entrance/exit.
Nice place. Lots of interesting tourist places.
If you go to this station in the evening, you're guaranteed to see a rat or two. Otherwise an average tube station. Harrods entrance/exit times are: Mon-Fri: 07:30 - 20:00 Sat: 09:30 - 20:00 Sun: 11:30 - 18:30
Excellent station to go to South Kensington and Hyde Park Corner. It is in Travelcard Zone 1. Always rather clean and well staffed.
You can find things like this outside of the station, nice spot
I seldom remember this station before the refurbishment, but I do like how it looks now. It feels very bright and modern and it's proximity to Harrods is a bonus in its own right. Not the best in terms of accessibility mind you.
Good station however VERY dirty. The staff are polite enough and the trains are on time. Major complaint: There was some mashed banana on one of the platforms. My sister and mum stepped in it and the woman behind us slipped and fell in it. She got the banana all over her dress. We told a member of staff and they were willing to help out. ANYONE READING THIS: PLEASE SUB TO MY CHANNEL! THANK U
Love coming out of Knightsbridge Underground station as you are really in the heart of a very nice area. You can either go down to Harrods and shop or you can go straight up in to Hyde Park and have a nice relaxing walk. Very tidy underground station and the staff are nice
