Second time here and soon to be back for a third! Lovely pub with so much to offer with seating and space. Kids are very much welcome here with a great garden space and playground. The food here is beautiful. The beef Sunday roast was a highlight with scampi and chips proving a winner, too. Parking: Ringo parking app required for outside car parking. Kid-friendliness: Awesome back garden space with playground for the kids.
Popped in for lunch on a weekday. Place had a few tables empty. We sat at a table near a lovely log fire. Ordered food which was lovely. Ribs and a burger would recommend both. Service was good the chap who served us was very friendly and asked how we were needed anything else etc. facilities were clean and modern. We didn’t visit the garden as too cold. Would recommend visiting if in the square.
I often visit here for the occasional pint. There are always other customers in the bar. The beer is fine, although the selection is limited. My latest visit was to watch England in the Euro final. The covered courtyard and the function room were used to show the match. These were ideal locations and left the bar football free which would please customers wishing to have a quiet drink without the noise.
Lovely big pub, with plenty of space. We attended a private function in their rooms at the back. Lovely big garden too. We didn't have foodService: 5/5
It’s where ancient meets modern! Beautifully built to hold on to its history yet up to the minute service and billing! Parking near is Pay in Dismay and very tight! Some locals seem to abandon their cars in the middle of the square but no_one seems to care! Yes I’d recommend it and yes I’ll go again!! Dietary restrictions: No problem, they’ll bend the menu to suit!
Visited here this afternoon Friday with my 13 year old son after a local hike with the dog. The facilities are lovely and well maintained. Beautiful garden and outdoor covered seating area. Everything was very clean, including the toilets. Food was good with plenty of choice and not too expensive. Staff were fabulous. Very polite, welcoming and no request was too much. Even the dog got a fuss and treat. Haven't been for few years but will definitely be making it a regular pit stop from now on. Thank you for a lovely lunch!
We went here whilst on holiday. Lovely food and very friendly, we had 4 dogs with us. When making the booking we asked for a quiet table and there was one reserved for us. Would recommend as very dog friendly and good food.Food: 5/5
A lovely old pub with the biggest garden and a great courtyard. Food was very good, fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. Service was polite but no conversation. Parking: Although parking is by meter, it's the cheapest I've seen anywhere.
I wouldn’t normally go to the trouble of leaving a review for a pub. But feel others need to be pre-warned! Me and my other half were disgusted at what was served for the price. We ordered two burgers this was on a Sunday for reference. We were presented with a small portion of warm chips and the burger was pitiful. An over toasted bun which was small, one patty, burger sauce evidently out of a bottle and not freshly made, some onion and a slice of lettuce! It looked like it had been kept under a lamp too long or had been microwaved. This is fine if you’re paying under a tenner for the privilege…but £17.50 EACH. It’s just appalling! We popped in on an off chance for a bit of rare couple time without our son. We honestly wished we hadn’t bothered. We can cook better food at home. We would never return and will be telling all to avoid…honestly just because you’re in ‘Wickham’ doesn’t give you the right to charge stupid prices for crap. The beer was also presented with no head on it at all. The final staff member we dealt with was a lady with dark hair who had no sense of humour, no warmth and was very rude when paying our bill. Just finished off an already rubbish experience. There are way nicer places for less money and better food. Don’t even bother wasting your time….
Lovely pub with decent outside seating covered and open. playground for children too : Amazing food and good selection of beers :Food: 5/5
