The cleaning lady is not a nice person at all and runs rings around the owner like she actually owns the place and her cleaning isn’t up to standard. The satisfaction we got after seeing her face when Hillary over paid was amazing. Nice location though
Went in with my family today for Sunday Lunch as we heard they have a new chef that started today 22/06/25. And my gosh was it an improvement!! The potatoes were delicious and crispy. The meat was perfect and the veg just superb. The owner Sally is so friendly and the pub has a brilliant atmosphere, it has changed so much. Everything is lovely and clean as there is also a new cleaner!!!nnPlease go here and try the new fab food maybe even book to stay
We travelled for lunch today and was it worth it!nGreat little pub outside of Bude, worth the journey for Sunday lunch. Heard they have anew chef so headed in to Stratton and what a lovely surprise we got. The food was hot, delicious and lots of it with a great choice too. Desserts looked top draw. The bread and butter pudding looked ace. Chloe, and the other staff were happy and helpful. We will be back. There are some bad reviews but we didn't have that experience at all.
Ordered food and got the nicest, largest homemade pies I've ever seen, specials were £12 and I certainly didn't need any more. Didn't think to take a picture until we had all tucked in but we're left very impressed. And full. Puts most pub food to shame
Having read other reviews, it seems a shame to spoil it, but I popped into this pub on a Saturday afternoon to ask if they had Sky Sports, and there was a nice atmosphere and a really friendly lady behind the bar. However , when I went back with my husband on the evening of Sunday 24th August, there was just one table of customers locals who stared at us. I asked the barmaid if she was still serving and she lent across the bar and rudely said 'just about'. I then said 'so you are still serving ?' and in an equally terse manner she repeated 'just about'. We still ordered a drink but we left quickly . I don't think I have ever been greeted with such rudeness anywhere.
