I looked the outside it looks small don't be deceived . Well appointed rooms helpful staff . Meals good ,check specials board. Beds comfortable and rooms adequately furnished. Log fire toasty in cold water months good place to stay when visiting area.

Had Lasagne and chips. My partner had beef pie , chips and veg. My Lasagne had hard chunks of carrot in and was still icey cold in the middle. My partner said his pie was cold in the middle and the huge chunks of veg were rock hard. Definitely not worth what he paid for the meals. Good thing I was able to fill up on chocolate from the local shop 🙄

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It had a wonderful country pub atmosphere with an historical background. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The bathroom was very pleasant, clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly particularly the Proprietor and Manager. We had a very enjoyable dinner and breakfast here, all reasonably priced. The WIFI was good and they provided parking at back. We will be back if we can and would highly recommend staying here.

Sat in here 1/2/2018 19:46pm waiting for our meal wich is pate' on toast with trimmings and also for main i fancied a batterd fish with chips the other half got lasagne with salad and chips also garlic bread fir desert we orderd sticky toffee pudding wich was not on menu but went out way to make it for us soooo chuffed and we are next to a log fire it's cosy friendly and brilliant atmosphere and will be returning now leave me to tuck into my sticky toffee pudding coz I can't wait any longer 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Gem of a place, found this on my travels tonight! Food was great, nice big portions. The young man serving was fantastic so helpful and very polite to all the customers, a breath of fresh air to see genuine customer service. A little dated inside but very clean and I would highly recommend a visit, great value for money.
