Took my mum for an overnight stay. She and her sister visited here many time's before her sister died, so many memories. My first visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room had been refurbished and were very clean and comfortable. My only negative would be the bathroom, although new tiles quite an old suite. Dinner in the evening was delicious and good portions.....piping hot too. Good wine list. Pitlochry is a lovely setting and the extensive work that the hotel is doing to the grounds at the rear will add even more appeal.
Some areas of hotel are in need of refurbishment although room was clean and fresh. Very poor wine quality and not cheap considering how awful it is. Our second time staying and some work had been done since previous visit. However, no difference in wine choice. Considering the size of hotel sure they could do better.Rooms: 4/5
Stayed here on a number of occasions in the past and enjoyed everything about it. Asked for accessible rooms again for this visit but didn't get them, the service for our meal was not good at all although when the food did arrive it was very good and there was no member of staff in the guest lounge to serve drinks after 10 pm which I found extraordinary. I'm hoping this was a "one off" as we do like staying in Fishers and would hope to again.
Great location. Room ok, was a bit hot in early March in the room despite all heating turned off? Comfortable bed. Odd sock left in wardrobe. Door lock system felt dated. Great location. Breakfast good.Rooms: 4/5
This is the first time I stayed here at the hotel my room was large enough but the bathroom left a lot to be desired bad smell of damp mould in the corner at the bath taps skirting board in bathroom were unpainted Serval holes on the bathroom walls were it looked like toilet roll holders and grab rails had been moved but not filled in and repainted. TV was not straight on the wall and there was a lot of noise coming from the staff quarters at silly o'clock at night we complained and it got sorted but the night staff did not look amused that I was complaining. Said this is a 4 star hotel and in some respects it is but not in my opinion too much poor quality finishing within the hotel 3 star hotel changing 4 star prices .
Great location, rooms are dated, as well as the overall hotel. The room had a significant bow in the floor, estimating it to be about a two in dip shown in the attached pictures. The hotel itself is in need of proper maintenance. Most of the staff is friendly and courtesy. Mattresses are not bad. The hotel room bathrooms are newly renovated and nice.
The hotel staff were amazing! We were caught in the storm and road closures and the staff were able to put up bus loads of tourists suddenly needing last minute accommodation at very short notice. The rooms wee great; comfortable, clean and we had a great night's sleep. The breakfast the next morning was also great.
We popped up to Fisher's in a fairly big group for a "murder mystery" dinner and an overnight stay. The dinner was really good even with the limited menu for the event and breakfast was also tasty, if a little hectic at the toast station. The room was also very pleasant and spotlessly clean, the bathroom was on the small side, however. The only real letdown to our visit was the front of house staff. Not one of them ever said "please" or "thank you" they were all very brusque at best and downright rude at worst. A shame really as the housekeeping staff and chefs must be making a real effort to do their jobs well. Parking is also very limited, with only two disabled spaces. We won't be back.
BEWARE OF THE CAR PARK AND FALSE INFORMATION FROM STAFF!!!! My family and I, along with friends, stayed at the Fishers Hotel for an overnight during a visit to the Enchanted Forest In October 2023. I appreciate that this is a delayed review but I was waiting for the Hotels / general managers response before posting, as I very rarely leave bad reviews I prefer to sort out issues privately. The overall stay was fine, spent limited time in the room itself as we spent most of our time in the town or in the bar downstairs. Overall, staff were polite and hotel was nice. Small mix up with breakfast but that's me being very picky. There was no space in the hotel car park so I parked the car further down the road in a pay and display car park. The morning of check out, I moved the car in to the hotel car park to make it easier to load up and went to reception to obtain a parking permit - as per the instructions on the signs. I was informed by the receptionist that as we were only staying for a couple of hours whilst we had a walk and some lunch that we wouldn't require a permit. Trusting the member of staff, we went about our day and left circa 2:30pm. HOWEVER......3-4 weeks after our stay we received a parking fine for £60. At the time we contacted the hotel immediately and the receptionist informed us to appeal the decision and if it was rejected, contact them back and we could speak with the manager. This appeal was rejected, so I contacted the hotel again and asked for the manager. I called constantly for about 2 weeks and no response to calls or emails - the manger was always in meetings! At this point I appealed to a company called POPLA who also rejected the claim at a later date - therefore increasing the fine to £100. I then called the hotel and threatened to contact Trading Standards and amazingly, the General Manager was available to speak with me!! Informed the General manager of the issue who went on to inform me that all appeals are rejected but he will see what he can do. After the POPLA appeal was rejected, I emailed again to the General Manager who has again decided to ignore my emails. Yes, we have parked and not obtained the permit, but I went to reception for the sole purpose of obtaining a permit to be told by a member of staff that I didn't require one for such a short stay. I really think the hotel should have helped out more here considering it was their false information that led to this issue in the first place. Overall, nice enough stay and staff are polite. However, if you have a problem that requires assistance, be prepared to be ignored by management and don't take advice from reception with regards to the car park! Reading a couple of other reviews, this isn't the first time this has happened either. Easy way to make extra money so BEWARE!!! Appalling follow up service. Wouldn't stay again.
Visited with a friend for the murder mystery last night which was weird to say the least, the staff were nice enough- FOH staff were kind of snippy but it was probably because it was busy. Waiting staff in the restaurant were lovely. There were no parking spaces so we had to park on a side street in the town which was quite a walk from the hotel. The room was quite shabby and there were lots of cobwebs, scuffs in the paint and woodwork. I had a very rough night’s sleep. The room we were in was boiling hot and no way of opening the windows- they appeared to be painted closed. Also our room 214 was very noisy with bangs and knocks all night long. Every time I’d drift off to sleep there would be a banging sound or a knock- it was very strange. Woke me up with a fright multiple times through the night, and I think I only got about 15 minutes of full sleep. Breakfast was fine, though the filter coffee had ran out so I had to get a machine coffee which was pre made with the milk- I’m lactose intolerant. Rooms: Need updating/the scuffs painted. Noticed a bit of mould too.
