Simple but good facilities toilets and changing cubicals, friendly helpful staff and a beautiful pond of various depths down to 2.8 meters. Fabulous swim on a very hot day!
Was a lovely pool in a great location, however the staff were rude and it was 1 minute early and we all asked if we could come in as it was very hot and there were impatient toddlers, they wouldn't let us. There were constant petty rules like don't jump in, don't sit on the edge, no food or drinks and they were very jobsworthy about it all. The session ended at 5:30 but they pushed everyone out at 5:15 to take some photos of models... In the staff shifts they were all jumping in yet we couldn't!!
Looks rather small, but barely got busy as people seemed disinclined to hang around in the water 20degrees that day as such it was a good place to swim. Environment around the pond was clean and well managed. All the construction work going on around was interesting to see, but if you're looking for tranquillity, you need to look elsewhere.
I wish they'd never close it ! Great place to take a cold water plunge and then head next to the cafe for a warm brew and a cupcake. Place has changing facilities and is free, better to pre-book it to avoid disappointment as they only let 10 or so people at a time.
Great place to cool down on a hot summer day. However you need to book online a few days in advance as capacity is limited, which makes it very pleasant because it is never crowded.
I so hope this becomes a permanent feature to the area. I've been twice, and the water has become so much pond-ier. Very cold in winter, pretty cold in summer, but to swim in unchlorinated fresh water, it's worth it.
The water is gorgeous and the setting very relaxing. Somewhere special to come back to again and again. I loved the wild flowers and underwater foliage especially.
It was 13.6 degrees and I only managed a couple of circuits BUT i felt totally invigorated. It was almost surreal to contrast the planting with the urban environment and I was all alone.......BLISS
Nice. A little empty sometimes. But with enough people there's a great community feel. Sad to say good bye but it was always meant to be temporary.
Too many rules, too over rated, too much hype, too overbooked. Can't be bothered anymore. I would rather go to the ladies pond in Hampstead Heath, where you can be freer.
