"Welcome to the King's Arms, Seaton Sluice, Northumberland.Overlooking the famous Seaton Sluice Harbour, "the King's" enjoys a beautiful location on the Northumberland coast. We are proud to be a traditional clean, tidy & warm pub with no TV, no fruit machines and no jukebox, where the peace and quiet lets you make your own entertainment!Complete with a heated, sheltered, rear beer garden customers are able to sit back, relax and enjoy a cosy atmosphere, real log fires and traditional home cooked food. Very busy pub so booking at any time is recommended. Thankfully we knew to order the small fish & chips as the standard was whale sized. The general hubbub was quite loud for senior ears as was the low light levels till I used my phone torch ! but the choice of background music was very pleasing and non distracting. So, overall, good food, quite noisy and booking necessary. Oh yes....and brilliant location overlooking the crashing waves.
Fabulous local pub right on the sea front, friendly staff, brilliant beers and amazing fish and chips. Thank you. Shame we are only here for a short stay. We hope to be back.
This place is lush. Nice and chilled in a lovely spot right near the coast. The food is unreal, you wouldn't believe it was pub grub!Food: 5/5
Excellent home cooked food, we had the fish & chips, kings burger and hot beef baguette with chips. We also had the kids chicken bites. Portion size is great and tasted amazing. Service was fantastic, initially we had to sit outside as all inside tables were full. The bar person then came out to inform us of a free table. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Decided to go here for a meal this lunchtime, for the first time ever. I've always gone to the other pub/restaurant nearer the main road. I was able to park right outside for my elderly uncle to get in without too much difficulty! We ordered drinks which we got immediately and food a few minutes later. I chose the Minted lamb hotpot with mashed potatoes and melted cheese on top and my uncle chose the hadock and chips. We chatted for just a few minutes in this lovely old pub before being served with our meals. They were absolutely delicious! There was a load of succulent, slow cooked lamb with vegetables in a gorgeous gravy under the mash and cheese. Alongside was a half crusty sub roll with butter. I should have taken a photo but my bowl was nearly empty before I remembered! My uncle said his fish tasted really fresh and his chunky chips seemed like homemade! We will be back! As we were going out I remembered I'd forgotten to pay for the meal so I got my uncle to sit down on a picnic bench and went back in just in time to catch the barmaid coming to chase after us! We couldn't do a runner after a meal that good!!! We can't run anyway, he's 87 and I'm 65!
Called in here after not being for a looong time. It was popular before but seems to be even more so now. Arrived 4ish and got the last table that wasn't booked. Food was 1st class, service was flawless, if you haven't been you don't know what you're missing. Parking at the front and side of the building, wheelchair accessible but make sure you book a table always.
Friendly, dog friendly too pub. Although we didn't eat, whilst we were there the head chef was explaining their new menu to the staff. Menu looks impressive. Good choice of hand pulled bees and choice of fine wines. Worth a visit we say.Service: 5/5
Amazing food! Great service. Brilliant pub. The starter, Asian style pork belly with chilli and scallions was amazing. I drank the sauce like a broth, the best starter I've ever had. It was outstanding and was tempted to order it again for a main course. Prawn cocktail was tip top and it was nice to see someone make an effort and take some care with it as it totally paid off. Pie of the day was Steak, onion and mushroom in an ale gravy. I'm not a fan of a puff pastry lid but it did the job and the amount of pastry was brilliant. The pie was delicious and full to the brim. The beef Baguette was star of the mains. Best roast beef I've ever eaten and the baguette was perfect. Gravy is sensational. Thick and full of flavour. The chips were perfect. When I think of pub chips, that's it. Dark, crispy edges and soft and fluffy in the middle. Kids chicken bites with chips were a good size for a kids meal. Fresh and tasty. Onion rings were lush, crispy batter and a good portion. Best pub meal I've had for a long time. The staff were brilliant!
Gorgeous old pub and well located by the coast, lots parking. Came for lunch. Great service, very friendly. Busy pub which is great to see. Good options to have small or large choice for some meals. Good value. Had 3 delicious meals, mince dumplings, steak pie and small fish n chips. Only disappointed - as much as the chips are great I wish they were served straight from cooker as they were not hot and slightly soggy under the fish. Overall, a lovely pub.
The day we were there, the staff were lovely and provided a great service. It's a restaurant/pub so the atmosphere suited the place. It was as it should be. Food was proper delish with well cooked meat and plenty veg. We all had a good time. Thank you.Food: 5/5
