Really shocked with how the evening went visiting this place with the family. Food took ages to come out they brought the adults meals out first and then the kids after 8mins which I believe that the kids meals should have came first. Food wasn't the best either the chicken was pink and the dessert was rock solid they didn't even let it defrost.nThe lady which we believe was the assistant manager was RUDE we spoken to her and she was like it's busy and we don't have any staff but the pub was actually quiet. Loads of excuses which is wrong.nThis should have been dealt professionally.nnNot sure why this place has gone done? Think the team need full training.
We always have a very enjoyable experience at the keymaster . The bar staff are exceptional as are the servers expecially Sophie which is why we always return
Come here most Sunday mornings for a full English breakfast, nice and quiet, food hot, fresh and not greasy and hash browns are always crispy. Staff are always nice and friendly.
Visited here on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't particularly busy. We easily found a table and ordered our food and drinks. Staff were friendly and polite.nOrdering from the classics menu my husband had scampi and chips and I chose the steak and ale pie with mash.nThis is where the good service ended. The pie's pastry felt like it had been warmed up in the microwave and the mash potato was as we already knew the microwave variety but we didn't expect to have it presented not mashed up and resembling the frozen pellets it started as.nThe scampi was nice but unfortunately the chips needed a little longer.nWe've eaten here before and the food has been good quality but for some reason our visit this time was just not up to standard. We assumed that the food would be fresh, had we wanted a microwave meal we would have stayed at home.nHopefully the kitchen can do better next time, but as for the staff we cannot fault any of them and the service was good.
I recently visited for the three course Christmas menu and I was really impressed. I pre-booked the table and my order. When I arrived I was promptly seated to a beautifully laid table by a very friendly member of staff. The food arrived quickly and it was fresh, hot and very good quality. The waiter was friendly, courteous and made sure I was happy and welcome at all times. The portions were large and it was very good value for money. The desert was the best, fresh produce and fruit. It far surpassed my expectations to be honest and probably the best meal I've had at a Hungry Horse pub before. They really went above and beyond to provide a great atmosphere. It was busy and welcoming and this included the bar staff. I'll be booking for next year and can't wait to visit again.
