I have mixed feeling about this place... Great service in the decorating department and the guy behind the counter gave me some good advice about restoring my staircase. 5 stars there! However, the customer service in kitchen showroom is non existent unless you look like a millionaire! 3 weeks ago my husband and I visited to look at bathroom and kitchen flooring, we approached the guy on the front desk who acted like we'd interrupted him, he showed us to the flooring and just stood there like we were putting him out, he didn't offer any information or advice on the product range and just left us to look. Fine, we looked and selected a couple of products we liked and went back to speak to him but he was then busy being over attentive to wealthy looking people. We understand there are other customers so we waited for a while but thought we'd come back another day. We visited again yesterday and went straight to the flooring to look, there was absolutely no one available to help, waited a while and walked around holding a sample, we saw the same snotty looking sales guy swooning around wealthy looking people again. We were not acknowledged or spoken to. The sales guy then actually turned his back on us to do some admin after he'd finished with a customer, he had definitely seen us walking around, I made sure of it, but even he hadn't it's his job to look around to make sure people are being attended to etc. Well this just annoyed us, the salesman made us feel quite unimportant, we were there to spend money, out of principle we're not going to spend it where the staff aren't interested. We'll purchase our Karndean flooring else where and probably won't be back, we have a whole house to renovate and would rather spend our money with people that appreciate our custom. We obviously didn't look rich enough.

They have almost everything you want here but it will come with a price that's higher than the bigger competitors. Good bunch of staff work here and are really helpful too. I've only ever had one issue and that was in the paint department. I went in for another can of paint the same size and colour I had brought a week earlier and was told in no uncertain terms that not only did they not have one they never sold them, ever. I told the guy I brought it from them and pointed out the bloke who sold it to me only to be told I was wrong and they had never In the history of Kent Blaxil sold that particular paint in that particular size. Got the bloke to check the computer and I was right and they did sell it to me. Good I thought I was going crazy, the young lad wasn't so full of himself after that but I think he saw the funny side. I'd recommend it if your in a hurry. They do some good deals on tools so have a look around. Steer clear of the burger van in the carpark though. Since the regular guy left it's not the same, we got charged nearly £10 for 2 burgers that weren't nice at all and never went back. Bring back Dave and the mushroom, chilli and tomatoes!!

Preferred it a year or so ago with the old staff on paint and wallpaper, and Dave on food.

I've just purchased my first property and a friend of mine recommended that I speak to the guys behind the decorating counter at Kent Blaxill for all my decorating needs. I have to say I was hugely impressed with the service from James C. He was efficient, helpful and friendly. The prices were very competitive too! The little bit extra I spent on high quality trade paints was then saved on the tools I needed so it probably worked out to be about the same as buying from the competitors! I've since decorated my flat and I've been massively impressed with the quality of the products, paints and tools I've used. I'm not a professional decorator by any stretch of the imagination but the finish on my walls, ceilings and woodwork looks fantastic! Very pleased and will be shopping at KB in future!

I visited the Kent Blaxill showrooms in Colchester to look at the kitchens this week. I was impressed with the variety of kitchens available and the helpfulness of the staff. I would definitely recommend going to Kent Blaxill if you are looking for a new kitchen as the selection is impressive and the staff were excellent.
