We camped here 2 weeks ago and used kelham hall as a base to go and race in a cycling sportive at Newark show ground. Nice clean toilet block with warm showers ,a bit of pain though as were in a tent and it thrashed it down for a few hours so was in for a wet walk to toilet block.Had a walk around the hall on the way to the fox inn pub and amazed at how well kept the grounds and hall are .
Lovely campsite! Great for groups of campers and nice walks around the halls. There's a pub just outside the grounds which does takeaway pizza and fab home cooked food. Gave 4 stars as the toilets really let this place down not clean and very old also was a far walk from where you had to camp if they were updated this place would be amazing!!
Beautiful place which is let down so much by its amenities, so much so I'm not sure I would go back until they have been updated. The Elsan point is a disease pit in waiting and can be found in the dark by a blind man from 20 meters on an average day, I wouldn't like to imagine the smell on a hot day. The showers are hot but need updating badly. The toilets do the job but are a shared area for teeth brushing and washing and smell which isn't nice. Brilliant play parks for the children. Really nice grounds for walking around, with a river which is ideal for pond dipping. Great wooded areas all around which gave the children endless fun. If the facilities are to be updated I would happily give this spot 5 stars, it is a place of beauty that is only let down by its amenities.
Had a good 1 night stay here always take the grandchildren at least once a year they where a little disappointed the hall was closed but loved the grounds climbing trees finding acorns conkers pinecones owl houses rabbit holes river walks 2 parks kept us all very busy great weekend outdoors will definitely visit again.
Beautiful location ....plenty of trees and grass. Toilets and showers basic but clean. Would definately return
This is a amazing place to get away from it all. The grounds where lovely. Nice big pitches and friendly staff
The most expensive campsite in Europe. 1 person, 1 tent, 1 bike, N0 Wi-fi, No Eltronic, 1 night. = 25 pounds. I am traveling for a year.
Staff are nice and helpful. But the pitches are packed into one area. This means everyone is quite close together. It's absolutely packed and really noisy with people still chatting and playing music after 10pm. Wouldn't recommend for any couples who just want a getaway but might be good for a family trip if you have kids. Leaving a night early as we aren't able to get any sleep whatsoever.
Love this place for its space... my kids love the freedom to run around ride bikes and play on the 2 parks and tennis court... definitely coming back
Just got back. Had a brilliant time with the family. Im not usually that fussy about facilities but they are a bit old and gross here. Apart from that big pitches beautiful grounds with a good park a nice pub across road. Think we will return still
