This was a fantastic bookshop, but it has closed down. I can't find a phone number for Confer or Karnac - and haven't been able to determine whether they are gone for good, or have simply relocated. Please update your websites - people are making needless journeys.
I just left london a day ago and while I was there, I attempted to visit the bookstore twice and it was closed. The website stated the bookstore would be open until 5 pm and I walked from the tube station to the book store in the rain only to be disappointed when I got there. I regularly order books from Karnac and I was hoping for a vist and take some photos. For the past few days I was trying to order a book online but due to technical issues, you cannot proceed to checkout. For such a prestegious bookstore it is hard to fathom some of these shorcomings.
Not sure who is in charge here but something has gone terribly wrong with communications. The shop has closed for good - it is empty and a “for rent” sign is in the window. Why has no one updated the website or Google listing?
I ordered books two months ago from Karnac and enquired three times via their website’s email contacts sheet and to date have not received a response. They have a lovely book selection but their customer service leaves much to be desired.
Hands down the best book shop for psychotherapists and those interested in anything to do with psychology and mental health. Wonderful selection, lovely staff and a great second-hand section too. I'll definitely be visiting every time I'm in the area. Thank you!
Twice I come from France and twice I find the door closed yet I arrive at the right time. The store seems to have closed for good and no one answers the phone.
The store is empty and closed, seemingly for good, although Google and the stores website states differently. It was a disappointment.
I somehow find books here that I don't find elsewhere. Could spend a whole day here browsing through their vast collection. Ideally located!
Wonderful shop. Very nice and helpful stuff. Must go if you are keen on Psychoanalysis.
If you are in London a visit here is a must, if you are not in London then go to London and to this bookshop. That tells all.
