Lovely shop visited today to purchase a Berserk hardcover, and after I had also asked a couple of questions, the gentleman was really helpful pointing out a good suggestion....good place to visit for that authentic comic store vibe!
an amazing atmosphere, as soon you step in, you’re instantly hypnotised by the amount and range of comics that they have. The staff - specially - we’re really friendly and cool, one of them went through several issues around the store to find one that would fit what I’ve asked for. Really nice place to visit, even if you’re not going to buy anything! sorry for the third comic that we only remembered after paying the first other two ones hahaha - the nightwing one got us all mesmerized
If you love comic books and graphic novels you’ve got to stop in at Mega City Comics. Just off the main drag on the way to Camden Market it’s a lovely place to change the pace for a few minutes. Recover from or get yourself ready for the madness that can be Camden Market. I really appreciated that the staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The employee who helped us kindly answered our questions and took the time to look through the store to help my 17 year old look for a specific series. He also helped me find a special edition comic for a gift. That kind of customer service and knowledgeable staff is just what you want in an excellent comic book store, and Mega City is certainly that—most Excellent Dudes!
One of the few remaining Independent comic book stores left in London, Mega City Comics has survived and is still standing. Located in Inverness Street Market Camden, it is just a short walk from Camden Town Tube Station and the Northern Line 2 minutes. The store is well stocked with those Comics that may be missing from your collection. They also have a good range of graphic novels. However, if you are looking for Manga, they have a limited collection.
We had a lovely experience except for the terrible pop music!, i was so happy to find a graphic novel I'd been looking for for years and it was in excellent condition so i was happy to pay over the marked price. The young person behind the till was very sweet, friendly and knowledgeable. I hope your floors get the support they need! Next time we're in London we will definitely be back!
Excellent comic store. I visited as they have bought in Brian Bolland personal comic collection and were selling some very unusual and unexpected comics at reasonable prices. The Bolland collection is sublime, he is as much an artist as a fan with items signed to him from a variety of people. The shop is well stocked with considerable quantities of back issues and the gang are worth asking for specific titles. Martin, Josh and Jack are quietly pleasant, engaging as required and knowledgeable in comics. Definitely worth a visit.
Mega City Comics is like a wonderland of comics if you love comics that is. The shop is located in the heart of Camden not far from the station on Inverness street. Not only can you shop for comics on this road but it has some great restaurants and a classic record shop where you can buy vinyls “nice” so you can brush off the record player and read some old comics. The shop has been open since 1987 that’s around 35 years “wow” they sell classics and modern collectibles, Batman, superman, Spider-Man and a great range of Manga and loads more, I mean how many of us wish we owned the first ever superman comic now? You can browse for ages in this fully stocked shop, I bought a comic book about bob Marley’s life just because it looked so unique plus I love Bib Marley of course. They really, really have a massive range and it’s so great to see some of the great classic comic drawings close up. The owner has been into selling comics for over 40 years, at the counter you might be lucky enough to be served by Josh he is an expert in all things comic official comic geek they are priceless, and can be found only in this shop, he goes on to tell me that the owner has probably forgotten more than most people will ever learn about comics. All in all this a a fantastic and unique shop and definitely worth a visit.
Possibly the best comic shop in London albeit the World. Great level of service from a knowledgable, passionate team who actually take time to listen to you and help you as much as they can. There is something for everyone here but their variety of Marvel/DC vintage back issues is second to none and constantly being refreshed. If you love comics and illustrations in general then you need to pay a visit.
I genuinely believe this is the best comic book store in the UK! The selection of comics, the prices, the friendliness of the staff; there is just such a pleasant atmosphere in the store and I never leave empty handed. Mega city has that classic comic book store vibe that otherwise just doesn’t seem to exist, and that is ultimately why I’ll keep coming back!
Nice comic book store with lovely and helpful employees! Eventhough they ended up not having the comic I wanted, we left with information and a different very good one - btw no other store in town has the one I was looking for... Mega City Comics is definitely my first choice in London next time :
