Hellenic Bookservice was a real treat. The downstairs second hand department broke my heart as I could only carry so much. I got Rex Warner, George Thomson and some other treasures. I was recommended by another bookshop, I found that the prices are fantastic. The staff are brilliant, helpful and engaging. There will be return visits.
Fantastic bookshop. The staff are friendly & helpful. More importantly the shop has a huge collection of books - whether fiction, educational, second-hand or anything in between, this is the place to go! They were also able to recommend a great greek teacher to me :
This is the only Greek bookshop left in London, but it has a long history. Many thanks to the owner and staff for their recommendations and experience. I spend hours every time downstairs where you find second hand treasures. They have a variety of books for those learning Latin, Greek and books for linguists too.
Excellent shop, amazing range of classics, travel info on Greece, contemporary Greek literature... Also you can order any book in not just Greek cheaper and faster than via an on-line retailer. Highly recommended!

Huge choice of Greek books, could spend hours browsing. We needed a dictionary and found exactly the right one thanks to the help and advice of the person serving there. I think her name is Ilana - great job!
Would be nice to have a vast list Online of classical books by Charles Dickens & Shakespeare new and used in the Greek Language, currently a very limited range unfortunately.
Great selection, a must-see for all lovers of the Classics, ancient & modern Greek, Latin, mythology, etc. Friendly staff, good £1 sales on the bottom floor. A great place to spend time for readers.
This is an excellent bookshop to find the most elusuve Classics books. It is warm and welcoming and the second hand area downstairs is a treasure trove.
