Booked my Toyota Yaris in for service & MOT using the online system which was very straightforward & informative on the pricing & details of the various service levels available. My vehicle initially failed the MOT due to a broken coil spring. I was contacted & made aware of the price to obtain & fit the part. All work - service, MOT, repairs & re-test was carried out on the same day & I was able to collect my vehicle after work. Great service & priced exactly as quoted.
Unfortunately I came across this garage. Has got to be without a doubt the worst garage ever. Unhelpful, absolutely NO communication. Had my car 2 weeks before they even looked at it. Another week to try and do a diagnostic with NO results other than a guessing game. Quoted my £900 +vat for a part that costs £85 online and it turns out that wasn't even the issue. Went and got my car from garage after closing hours with my spare key had enough by then. As far as they were aware the car was gone,or stolen. didn't call to tell me . I called them a day later to ask about my car, the were speechless. Waste of time, effort, money and 3 weeks without a car.
I have known John jrand and knew his late dad Johnsn for over two decades. I have never met more honest men, nor better mechanics. People who go out of their way to help you.This is a brilliant safe garage to take your vehicle too. Fair, honest as the day is long. I recommend this garage and this team to you in the highest possible terms.
Robbed. Charged over £200 for a repair that never happened!! My car stuttered and stopped, I got it towed and decided to take it to this garage. They claimed it needed a new fuel pump, gave me the car back, a day or so later the same thing happens again. Another tow to the garage, they messed around with it, gave me it back. A few days later the same thing happened again. I took it back again, this time they told me it needed something else entirely. I asked for them to replace this without charge as they had supposedly fixed it in the first place. They flat out refused and I refused to pay them anymore money. They didn't fix my car, they charged me £200 for a part it didn't even need. In the end someone I knew fixed it, it just needed the filters clearing! They either don't know what they are doing or are ripping people off! Avoid!
My daughter was quoted £800 to get MOT repairs carried out by Halfords, JR Motor Services did the same work for just over £100. Helpful, quick and very reasonable, would really recommend for an honest garage in the York area.PositiveQuality, Professionalism, ValueServicesGeneral repairs & maintenance
I was always a bit disappointed with my experiences of JR Motor services. Nice enough people, but they just seemed to lack the technical expertise i expected. They mis-diagnosed an air-con leak as just needing a re-gas, and returned it with the steering wheel misaligned. On another occasion I asked them to check out a fluid leak, and then paid for a repair in the 100s only to get it back and find it still leaking. Best avoided for anything serious
Fantastic customer service, can't fault the garage owner who fit my car in for its annual MOT short notice, even with me being a new customer. staff were friendly and really helpful and they wasted no time in getting my car through for the mot and repair. I am really happy with the service and cost and i will use this garage again. very highly recommended.
I know I'm never going to get overcharged here, and they will always offer options, if you can't afford expensive replacements. They will never 'find' lots of things wrong and charge you a fortune for it, either. I always trust taking my car here.
I broke down on the ring road yesterday afternoon. They had me recovered and squeezed me in for a master cylinder repair. I spent a quiet and pleasant night a The lLttle Hide about 1.5 miles away. They had me rolling by lunchtime and the price was very fair. I write this from home in Suffolk and extend my gratitude to Jon and his crew.
