Arrived at 8.30am, handed over car keys at 9am and new windscreen was fitted and fully calibrated by 10am. I was told on the phone when booking that it could take between 2 and 4 hours so was really impressed with this. Anticipating a 4 hour wait and needing to work remotely, I had planned to wait in a small cafe nearby in the Air Museum but it costs £15 to enter and doesn't open until 10am. Instead, I waited in the reception area which had 4 chairs and access to plug sockets ideal for remote working. I didn't ask if there was Wi-Fi as I just hotspotted from my phone, but Jackie was lovely and chatty/helpful. My only con is that it was hard to get a direct contact number for the York Branch online, but once I had it all questions were answered swiftly and completely. Would recommend
Travelled to them for a booked appointment only to be turned away as they hadn't ordered a heated windscreen even though the woman we booked the appointment with confirmed it would be. We took time from work to go plus petrol costs for a wasted journey. Told when we got there that we should have been told by same woman that national windscreen do travel to your home or work to replace windscreen so we made a journey, took time off work AND used petrol we needn't have!!! Disappointed doesn't cover how we feel tbh...
A fiasco of no one turning up after waiting a week and receiving reminders. Inconsistent call handlers. Couldn't book the car in until another week. Had to book time off work and the mot twice. The lady at the centre called after, she did apologise and booked me back in. I then had to drive there myself as it was drizzling. They fixed it OK in the end.
Sorry to say I am very disappointed with the service they are offering. They are the go to company of my insurance company. I made an appointment to have my windscreen replaced using my insurance claim line. Made a booking for one week later and confirmation texts received. The day arrived and I rang to check status of booking. Local office said they didn't have the job on their records. Rang claim line they said it was booked in. Was put on to another person who tried to get me to rebook for a week later or take it to depot 40 miles away. Advised her that the car could not be driven. She was emphatic it could be driven to depot. See pic. Decided to get local installer to carry out work at my expense. Better to not waste any more time.
Sounded hopeful when calling at the weekend, when my windscreen gained a lovely large crack. Then it all went a bit rubbish. Multiple text of your booked in, technician will call on the day... The day came, I tracked all day watching the jobs go and the tracker said I'm next. Next minute 18:00 tracker off. Eh!? Rang the call centre, who explained they'd leave a note and the technician might still turn up. This morning, still no technician. Rang the call centre to ask when today it'd be and basically couldn't get hold of the depot due to no WiFi, and next appointment Monday. NOT HELPFUL! OH and the depot number the lady gave was not a true number. Reviews are correct and won't be using ever. I'll admit I was upset this morning and maybe raised my frustration with the call handler but this isn't right... Customer contact is vital.
Terrible service, totally disorganised company steer clear and ask your insurer if you can go to one of the other national companies instead. They cancelled the mobile repair twice saying the central computer books too many jobs in per day, then they do not have the normal pop up tent/canopy covers that other windscreen repair companies use so they cannot work if it is not warm & dry. They say you will get a text message in the morning giving you a rough arrival time but it just said "we will call you when we are setting off" so you cannot plan out your day. Then they suggested we bring the car in to a branch for the repair but they try booking the car with the Lincoln branch for some reason - a 2 hour drive from our home in York! We get the booking transferred to the York branch eventually and take it in to drop it off. They are all locked inside with the lights/music on and the doors locked so you cannot get anybody's attention and they do not answer the phone!. Took the car back next day, the fitter was late arriving, he fitted the screen wonky so lower at one side and cannot see chassis number now. Big gap in the seal at the top and trims around bottom of the screen broken and clips missing. There is a cracking noise from the dashboard too. When collecting the car I was greeted by a big aggressive looking bull dog chained up inside the branch. Honestly, if your car insurance company send you here for a screen repair, ask them if you can go to one of the other national companies who do offer a good service and do not waste your time with these cowboys. Look at the other reviews, they are awful to deal with
Not impressed by the service, pretty unprofessional I'd avoid guys!
This company is a joke. I booked online on Thursday for a Saturday appointment and was informed a time slot would be provided to me for the appointment. By Friday afternoon this time slot had still not be provided so I contacted the company. I was informed the branch was closed and I should call back on Saturday morning. I called on Saturday to be informed that the branch was closed on Saturday and was told to call back on Monday. I called on Monday to be informed that they don’t have the windscreen in stock and it would be about a week. I called autoglass and had my car booked in the following day. Shocking service, serious issues with customer services as I didn’t even receive an apology for the mess about and it was left to me to continually chase them.
You will have to leave your car as it can take up to 4 hours to fit a windscreen, the guys are friendly and told me about the process of calibrating the cameras. I had to glue part of the rubber strip and plug in the rear view mirror.
Booked in for replacement screen via insurance. Staff arrived late for work and seemed uninterested in work. Was told the new screen was all scratched. Decided to use auto glass instead after speaking with my insurance. Lost a full days wages.
