Incredible place, It is worth its reputation, warm friendly, wonderfully decorated. The foods specially the hot vegetable and seafood soups made a difference. Live music and the staff very kind and smiling us immediately served us. The prices very reasonable. A part of legend that the visitor should not miss to goFood: 5/5
Amazing food and drinks. Great atmosphere and the great traditional Irish music . The kids menu is fantastic! My kids are very fussy to eat, so I ordered just one meal for the 2 of them and they ate all the food in the plate and asked for more Definitely, myself and my family highly recommended it.
It was an experience, definitely! The interior of the place and generally the atmosphere is incredible, feels like some another world. Lots of tiny rooms old style with huge amount of people, each centimeter is decorated with something, in the big room there is a small stage for performances, life music... Nothing romantic in this place, so it's definitely not a choice for a date, but to visit as a tourist, with friends, take pictures, enjoy tasty traditional meals and all that atmosphere is truly worth it! So don't expect any luxury service or some high restaurant standards and you'll enjoy your time on maximum! Prepare your camera, there are plenty of photo zones !
It's one of the oldest pubs in Ireland and definitely worth a visit. There is a huge parking. You can sit either outside or inside but definitely book ahead as it was packed for lunch on Saturday. The atmosphere is just amazing!Atmosphere: 5/5
This place totally deserves its reputation. So magic and full of character. A must see if you are in this area. Its worth a drive.. Guinness pie is great but my favourite is a slow cooked lamb shank. It is just amazing
We live in Dublin, but I've never had the chance to come up to Johnnie Fox's until tonight. So glad that we did! The food is some of the best pub food I've had living in Dublin. I had the Seafood Pie and my husband had the Lamb Shank. I recommend either dish to anyone going up here for food. I've never had better Seafood Pie in my life and the Lamb Shank was falling off the bone, and melting in your mouth. The Guinness was smooth and delicious. We ended our meal with the Banoffee Pie which I had never actually tried before, and it was a perfect and sweet end to our evening there. The staff was lovely and service was surprisingly quick for how busy it was. Definitely book a reservation and just go straight to the overflow car park to save yourself some sanity. We will definitely come here again soon!
Fantastic pub, great food, amazing vibe. Super friendly and accommodating staff. We went there after Wicklow hike and trip, around Saturday 6pm, even though it was full and booked, the staff managed to squeeze us in! There was live traditional music. Speedy service. Great ambiance. Never disappoints. Definitely recommend going and booking in advance.
First time at the legendary Johnnie Fox's pub. I went with my friends and we were able to eat in the middle of the afternoon. The place is a living legend and a window to the past as well. A lot of ancient things on the walls. The food was great as well. The parking can be a bit small but you can easily parked nearby.
Fantastic local pub with decent food fresh pints friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. This is must visit place once in Ireland. Make sure you have a good look around to feel the real climate of this gastro pub. It gets very busy so booking is recommended. Only downside was cleanliness... if you keep so many gadgets and memorabilia in your premises make sure you take spider webs of off them especially in rooms where you serve food...
Great place, with great atmosphere. Food is very good. I had seafood chowder and lamb shank. Top dishes. Chowder was rich in sea food pieces and lamb was so tender with the gravy. Guinness was top and the service is so quick and really nice.Food: 5/5
