Busy chippy in a very nice position not far from the lighthouse and beach. Easy to get to from the holiday parks. Food was excellent. Very friendly atmosphere and service. They also did the most amazing cookie dough ice cream too which the family had on our second visit.Food: 5/5
Always look forward to visiting JJs. Best fish and chips we have tasted in a long time. Always freshly cooked and cooked to perfection with crispy batter. Can't understand some of the negative reviews. Any visitors to our van rave about the food.
The fish was well cooked and well drained not greasy at all. Beautiful traditional chips also not greasy at all. We all throughly enjoyed ours meals and the kids left very little.Food: 5/5
Wonderful fish & chips from down the road in Southerness
Me and my Beautiful Girlfriend didn't have much to stay home for, so we went a run in the car to Southerness. Went to see the lighthouse there. JJ's Fish and Chip shop was open. Like what you do, we had to go in and buy a few suppers. We like what we got. There is a Lovely holiday caravan park there too. Worth a wee visit.
Service with a smile would have been nice... the fish was nice but tiny... sausage not the best.. and as I couldn't see any salt and vinegar on the counter only for sale behind the counter, I said I didn't realise I had to buy salt and vinegar. Nobody said oh we put it on for you free of charge...
After a huge hike up the coast was a welcome rest bite. 4 fish and chips with ice creams for dessert were devoured. Service was quick, fish resh and tasty chips with the right amount of salt and vinegar. Kid-friendliness: Kids meals and fabulous ice-cream... Parking: Just opposite the fish and chip shop.
Apparently a great chippy. Wouldn't know. No answer on their phone lines on multiple occasions. Went down to find they've adjusted their opening times but not their website or Google. Great help.
Excellent food, we all loved the chips, good portions, great fish,sausages and curry sauce , would recommend if you are staying in Southerness, fantastic, will be back 5*****
