On holiday in the area and had a day trip to Silloth to walk up the coast to Grune Point and back. This worked up an appetite, not much was open so popped into the Golf Hotel. Made to feel very welcome and was in time for the set menu which, at time of writing, is served from 12noon to 5pm. Unbelievable value, £12 for two courses and they don't skimp on the portions. Everything was freshly prepared and was very tasty. We had the fish and chips for main course and were told it was a smaller portion than the main menu. Well that must be quite some size as this was a normal sized meal to me. Home made profiteroles with warm chocolate sauce was a great pudding too.
All I can truly say is that the staff here are absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond for my family. Unfortunately the food let them down significantly. It was very hit and miss to be polite. However it is set in a beautiful coastal setting, very picturesque and quiet. Again I would like to say the staff are absolutely fantastic.Rooms: 3/5
Staff leave a lot to be desired. Young girl who was the server black hair had an attitude as big as the sea front. Food bland. Nice and clean and warm, OK beer That's about it.
So relaxing, staff are professional and welcoming. Highly recommend if your staying or just passing through, good food and a nice pint.Service: 5/5
Had carved which was excellent very good quality and priced likewise. Overall will go back again. Young lady knew how to pull a perfect Guinness in a proper Guinness glass. Great staff very friendly etcService: 5/5
No hot water - we had a lovely room on first floor - apparently hot water on a different system from upper floor. We reported it to restaurant manager noone else about and not resolved. Water heated up on morning we were leaving. 2 nights and 1 morning without basics and charged Full price for stay. The receptionist made out that it was our fault for not telling her - a bit difficult when she wasn't there
Staying local and stopped for a meal, even though the guy was finishing food soon he accomadated us as a party of 5. The food was out of this world to the point my wife as stated that the steak and ale pie is one of the best she as tasted. Will be back. Family and friends went for a leaving meal last night, I'd like to say Amy and her staff were brilliant and went above and beyond to cater to all our needs! The food was outstanding and came out piping hot for such a large group of us. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Top team and top food! Thank you all.
Great food and friendly efficient service. That fish and chips... WOW. Massive. Thanks for a great visit. Will be back.Service: 5/5
