Story

Located in the town centre, right on the River Kennet, our Reading restaurant is the perfect spot for anything from a mid-shopping pit stop or a casual dinner with friends to an intimate meal or a big celebration. Our spacious upstairs area seats over 100 guests, ideal for your special events. Average food and very pretentious. Even the service is average. Neither pasta nor pizza impressed us with the presentation and the taste. No wonder the place is struggling and is about to close. Probably the whole concept does not work because the food is simply... boring.
We went as we had a virgin experience voucher for a three course meal. It seemed like a good deal as the food we got came to much more than the voucher cost. The portions were very large and the food was decent quality. The service was really good. the location is really good, close to the oracle car park.
Staff is nice but food wise it's not too special and a bit over-priced. The portions are on the small side and ice cream with toppings seemed very podgy. Not a favourite but then again chains do tend to lose some charm.

Very disappointed. Jamie's used to be somewhere special and different but it's now very ordinary but still not cheap. We hoped to have a quiet lunch but there were lots of kids and crying babies. My steak was chewy. My husband's pizza was quite nice but rather oily on top. All in all i don't think I'll bother again
Just awful. The quality is terrible. Customer service diabolical. I asked them to cancel the calamari because it was fried in the ham croquettes and the waitress was scratching across the other side of the room. I went over to explain and she understood, but there was no need to make a song and dance of it. Glad it's closing. Never enjoyed Jamie's before either. The olives look out of date as if they've been sat on a shelf for a year in brine. Bleugh! Pizza express way better.
Nice location and pleasant modern building. The waiting staff were very friendly and they were attentive enough. The food was all very tasty and cooked to the standard you would expect in this type of establishment. I did not find the portions were too small it seems a common comment here. It was not my first time here and I am sure it won't be my last either. I would recommend that you give it a try yourself sometime.
Really fast service and friendly staff, our meal arrived within 15 minutes of ordering it and was delicious I had the prawn linguine did feel that the portions were too small to properly satisfy you but not so much that i was left hungry later on that night, the taste was good enough to make up for it! the only let down with my experience was that the tables felt slightly unclean and sticky and were not cleaned before we sat down, however this was only a minor and didn't detract from the enjoyment of our evening-would love to come again :
My family and I had a meal here a week ago on a lunch time. We had a frosty reception on arrival and were told we had to leave the push chair in the doorway as no room at table. Table staff very helpful though and polite. Crayons for baby and colouring and warmed up her food. Food very disappointing though, average ingredients and not well presented. We won't be returning. Lovely location though.?
Really disappointing experience. Monday lunchtime - waited 15 minutes to be seated and than another 20 minutes for a drink. Starter was stale and they brought the wrong main - by the time the correct main came, my fellow diner had finished her dinner she ordered the steak and left it as she could not cut it. In fairness, we did not complain as we were so late due to the service. For £39 with 3 drinks, it was very underwhelming.
